My favorite Arcade game series is Pac-Man. The most single popular arcade game ever since.

The Marvel vs Capcom games. (especially if you include Marvel Super Heroes, even though it's non-Capcom characters)

And if they make a Punisher 2, THAT will take crown place. I love the Punisher for CPS1. Totally awesome and violent game. (you see the Punisher kill people with battle axes. freaking awesome.....)

Street Fighter III series
the VS games are okay, I find them to have too much crap in them. SF3 is much more sophisticated while still keeping that quick action and skill. Maybe except for Chun dittos, I hear those are boring as snot; which is apparently more boring than you'd think it would be.
