Shigeru Miyamoto has been featured in a radio interview in Japan, and his statements could bring both excitement and concern for all Zelda fans.
According to the transcript from the radio interview, Shigeru Miyamoto stated that Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be the end of an era for the Zelda series:
" This will be, without a doubt, the last Zelda game as you know it in its present form. "
After that he declined to elaborate any further on how the series would change in the future, but instead went on to talk about the pure exellency of of the upcoming Twilight Princess:
" Our goal was to make the best Zelda game ever. The most rich, satisfying and [melancholic]. I worked on it personally, moreso than Wind Waker. I haven't invested as much into any game as I have this one. "
" We've really improved it in just a few months. Everything's coming together, much quicker. We may have some last minute ideas. "
Of course we're all looking forward to Twilight Princess, but needless to say these quotes bring up both worries and concern for Zelda fans, but most likely the change in the series will be heavily related to the "revolutionizing" aspects of Nintendo's next console, the Revolution.
Okay guys, what do you think this means? Could Zelda be no more? Personally, I don't think so, the series is too much of a cash-cow for Nintey to just ditch, but what do you think it means?

IT did say "in it's present state"
Wonder what that could mean. I highyl doubt they would dump a character that competes for their top spot.
-
Someone commented along the lines, "I hope it doesn't turn into a turn based RPG." Haha, that'd be weird!
-
Zelda will stay. I hear there are already plans for a Revolution one.
Zelda will stay, or all Nintendo shall be forfiet.
Hell hath no fury like The Sas denied the goods.
Also, anyone wilth 3/4th a brain could see all the little indications that point towrds them doing something AWESOME, instead of stopping it.

*writes down to tell Jody the next time in the prospect of buttsex refusal*
And I could hardly care less. Zelda II and Oracle of Seasons are the only Zelda games that I half ways liked, and bothered to beat. Anything new I don't really like the look to and to be honest, Zelda games can lick Calvat's anus, cuz da Swiftman dun care.
*runs from angry mob of Zelda fans*
-
I can just see it now. A turnbased Zelda RPG. Damn, why must everything good in my life die.
-
*Leads angry mob with pitchforks and torches towards Swift*
You've quite apparently never seen Ganondorf from A Link to the Past! He was much more badass than any other Ganon ever!
-
Link to the past FRO T3H WIN!!!1 *impales Swift on a spork*
-
aLttP Ganondorf > SuperHulk.
-
I liked Ganon from OoT myself, but thats just me.
-
He looked too human for me. But then again, I never actually beat OoT, so he may have had a transformation I didn't know about.
-
Damn Skippy!!
Descent can lick Calvat's anus, biotch!!! *prepares to run from Mob of DOS fans, then remembers there is none*
-
*smacks Trigger* There are plenty, fool!
-
NYAHAHAHAHAHAH!! LIES ALL LIES!!
You couldn't let me have that ONE thing over Swift, could you? Nooooo you had to but in again.
-
Yeah, because I'm somewhat fond of the old command line system. I wish Windows had a real command line.

That's the OoT Ganon, in his final form.
-
That's lame. aLttP was much more awesome. And thanks, Trig, I only wish I looked like Falco.
-
OK Nintendo is finally being smart for once, this is suppodsedly a good game form what I've seen, and I don't want Zelda to be ruined in the future, ending it after TP is a smart desicion. :D

You're going to get murdered, you know.
-
Hell no, if they do this I will introduce all of nintendo in japan to the wooden spoon!
