Title: Franchise Games You Dislike.
Post by: Crystalman on August 11, 2005, 06:39:31 am
Their the games everyone loves, and sell like hotcakes. Everywhere you go, you hear about that certian game from magazines, websites, friends. So you decied to blow a few bucks one night, and rent it. To your surprise IT SUCKS EGGS!

Everyone has that certian popular game they hate beyond reason. So spill your guts, and lash out against them!

My dislikes, include Halo, and Halo 2 (boooooring.) Kirby series (Made for pre-school gamers who aren't old enough to play Mario.) Metriod (Can't get into the story.)

Halo. Blah. My town has way too freaking many fans of the game.

and anything to do with Yu-gi-oh I despise. Games VERY MUCH included.

Yu-gi-oh, Madden NFL, need for speed, the recent tony hawk games (3 was the last non repetitive one)

devil may cry. imo devil may kart is taking things too far.

and people who play metroid for the story are really looking for disappointment, imo. the best parts of the games make no sense whatsoever.

I swear. You young kids today. Back in my day, we didn't have yer fancy 3D games like Star-Fox. In fact, we didn't have games! We had to make our own! We were so poor, that during Christmas, the only thing we could exchange were glances.

Jehuty, you made me LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I forgot to add the recent Mario games. Anything after mario 64 (barring SSB games) were just horrid to me. (I didn't like Luigi's Mansion that much, but I'm glad Luigi at least got his own game for once.)

Luigi's Mansion was actually fun to play. And yes, we had to make our own videogames because we were too poor to buy our own. o_O

I suppose if I knew Assembly well enough I would make my own games......

Luigi's Mansion was actually a really great game, which I figured out after a year of owning it. At first I didn't like it at all, but it is indeed fun.
Anyway, I hate GTA with a vengance, and I'm hoping for a GTA: Mushroom Kingdom to come along on the GameCube and ruin the franchise. I also don't like Final Fantasy anymore. I never really was into the series, but after 7...

I thought I was the only person who thought Metroid games had pretty much no story, heh.  But I love the games anyway.  Well, let's see.

Halo, Grand Theft Auto (After III it just went downhill, I shoulda bought SA though...it's worth a lot now), Megaman X is going downhill and has been ever since X7 or Command Mission (whichever came first), the new Sonic games, now don't get me wrong, they're Ok, but when people say they're amazing, they obviously never played the original 5 (1, 2, 3, Knuckles, and CD).  Hmm, that's all I can think of now.

By the ways, Kirby rocks.  Play Kirby Superstar, it might change your mind about Kirby.

Devil May Kart is what makes the DMC series so great! I mean, DMC3 probably wouldn't be as successful as it was if it wasn't for DMK. That game brought a comeback to the series after the 'game' known as Devil May Cry 2 was unfortunately brought upon us. <_<

I almost forgot Majora's Mask (no joke) Don't get me wrong it's a great looking game, and even better features, but the clock based play aggrivates the crap out of me! The world would always freakin end while I was trying to help that goofy monkey escape from the Deku palace. Way too annoying for a second go around.

I hate Grand Theft Auto. I miss the days when Rockstar made less violent games like Monster Truck Madness 64 and Thrasher:Skate And Destroy.

I also have mixed feelings about Mario because while the game is kind of cool,IHATEThwomps and Whomps.

I also hate those horror game (i.e. Resident Evil, DOOM) (*and your talking to a guy that was scared for a few days after reading the box of a Stephen King movie*) :D

Well Back then in N64 the graphics were premature, now they are 70 to 99 % good. The violence is remarkable. I dont like horror games. I always shit in my G everytime is see a zomby eating my arm without the guy screming.

Legends came out around 1998.  Around 2003/4-ish it started getting bad.  X6 was the last moderatley good Megaman game if you ask me.  I can't get into Battle Network, just not my kinda game.

I like all kinds of games.  You shouldn't dislike a series of games since they target a specific audience. If you are not part of the audience that a particular game is trying to target then ignore it. Don't go off ranting about how bad the game is when it's not meant for you in the first place. Geez.

Legends 2 was the last legends game to come out.  Well, there IS a Megaman Legends port coming to the PSP, but it's a port so it really can't be called a "new" game.  Legends 2 came out in 2000, by the ways.  In fact, I've never played it, I only have the first one.  I've heard good things though.

Only 1990 and above?  That doesn't make sense if you ask me :\.  Genesis came out in 1989, and NES games were still in the early 90's.  So what's wrong with playing games from the eighties?  They're no different than the nineties games.  You're missing out on pretty much a whole generation of awesome games.

My favorite years for games in 1994, 1993, and whatever year Privateer came out.

But yeah Blaze, you're missing out on a whole bunch of good games. the 80's were great for NES games (though I'm more a master system man than an NES one. Just gotta LOVE Phantasy Star)

I'll agree on Mega Man X. After X4, I lost interest. I'll stick with Legends, and Battle Network.

I was always on, and off with Resident Evil. I'd get flustered trying to figure out something so I just chucked the controller, and turned it off. Sometimes when I was in the mood for it, i'd play it till I got tired.

I don't like current Final Fantasy games. Most of the "Fanboys and fangurls" have only played FFX and never played the other games in the series.

I also hate NFL Madden games, and any game made by THQ or EA Games

Final Fantasy X was good in my opinion, and I've played every single FF besides the Japanese III which was never released in the US, but soon for the DS, so I can't wait to try it out.  I still don't see why people hated X, though.  I absolutley loved the battle engine.  It made planning strategies a lot easier since you could see what was happening in the next few turns.  X-2....is a different story >.>

We don't hate the game, we just hate the overeaction from n00bs who never played the series before.

FFVII and FFX wren't bad games, but they wren't as good as the obsessive fanbois and fangurls said they were.

That ruined the series for me.

Wrong. It was overhyped crap. Everything else though is true, i've played around with the battle system a few times, and it's easy enough.
