CURSE YOU SEGA SATURN! CUUURSSEEE YYYOOOOUUUU!!!!
« on: September 09, 2005, 01:49:08 pm »
Anyone remember the Saturn? Yeah. Fun console. I owned one years ago, but my parents threw it out, along with all my games. But, due to accidently seeing something about NiGHTS Into Dreams the other day, I was determined to play that game again. So I set out on a search for an ISO (like a ROM for CD games, if ya don't know). That search was.. hard, to say the least. But, at least there was an ISO (unlike F-Zero X Expansion Kit) and I downloaded it. Yay. So now I was off to find an emulator. Zophar'd. Grah! It appears that no one is working on making Saturn emulators that actually work. Most of them will only read CD headers, and the one that doesn't will only play games off the actual CD. Why can't Saturn emulation be easy?

It is quite common knowledge among the emulation communtiy that Saturn emulation is REALLY slow because of the way the system works.  Not sure of the specifics, but it just doesn't work very well.

NiGHT over/

sorry.

The world may never know.

But I managed to get 2 Saturns and 29 games for about 140 bucks on eBay a couple of years ago. You might have better luck there.

It's because the Saturn had like... 40 processors, and the 3D engine was tacked on as an afterthought, and then the system wasn't made to well to begin with. I'll probably try eBay later..

Sega Saturn has probably the Most expensive game ever, or at least one of them.  Panzer Dragoon Saga I think would be it.  Plus there's Guardian Heroes, which I've nver played.

Oh, and Virtua Fighter, a classic fighter (at being ugly as hell and sucking).  But yeah.  Play the 4th one.  It kicks ass.  3d digital ass.

Awesome game right there. I love how the opponent's AI is based on the champions of the real Virtua Fighter Tournaments.

Some Neo-Geo games go for $3000+, and those NES World Championship carts can go for over $5000 (regular and/or gold).

Right now a non-gold is $6,100.
