Castlevania just celebrated it’s 20th anniversary today. With the original NES game was re-released for Wii's VC service yesterday (Along with The Legend of the Mystical Ninja), what better way to embrace such a beloved video game series? Now, let’s just hope Konami wises up and releases Castlevania III for VC sometime.

I wish they would make a SOTN port for the Wii.

You never know. Hell, Capcom ported Mega Man 8, Mega Man X4, X5 and X6 all to GameCube for Mega Man Anniversary Collection and Mega Man X Collection and they were originally PS1 games. And the final result wasn't too bad.

If Dracula X is announced for the Virtual Console, then it's probably coming for sure.
But still, how do they categorize those PS1 games? There would have to be a new section called "Nintendo Station".

Well, there isn't a Sega or Hudson section. Plus, PSX games (Or any CD based game for that matter) are probably never going to happen due to there being only 500MB of space on the Wii's internal memory.

As much as I enjoyed the game, Portrait of Ruin was a bit disappointing for a 20th anniversary game. There are only a few dozen new sprites in a bestiary of over a hundred, and most of those are bosses. Hopefully that rumored 2D console Castleroid will rekindle things a bit.

Source or it didn't happen.

IGA has come out a few times and expressed interest in making a new 2D console game in numerous cover issues and interviews, but that's about it. No screenshots or anything. I wouldn't post it if he hadn't mentioned it before. For now, don't hold your breath, as they're working on the Dracula X Chronicles now.

Indeed. I STILL need to get a PSP.

Indeed you do. If you plan on hacking it, you may want to hurry as they're rolling out PSPs with currently unhackable firmware.

Or I could just wait until it's cracked like the rest of the firmware. Judging from the past few times they did this, I'd say it wouldn't be a very long wait.

They sort of stopped pushing the firmware cracks at 3.10 since most new and second-hand PSPs available at the moment ship with a hackable firmware. In any case, you still may want to hurry.

Bump due to Dracula X for PSP coming out very soon.

If by very soon you mean an unnknown date in the fourth quarter this year, then yes.

If anything, you have to blame it on the white man.
