This year, I've decided to save the Wii for later, so this year, I'm getting an NES for Christmas! With controller, Zapper, plugs, and a game, but I'm not sure which, which they didn't say, and I know a store in which they sell NES games! I can't wait!! :D

What the hell, boy? NES fucking sucked. It had those really dumb looking 8 bit graphics and a terrible game selection like that damn Super Mario Bros. 3 game and that peice of shit called Castlevania. Really, do yourself a favor and get an X-Box 720 and play yourself same Gaylo 3.
-
And that make the NES bad? Hell no.
It has tons of awesome classic games that are better than many modern games.
And it's not the graphics that's important, it's the gameplay value that counts.
And it's to save money, cause I can't afford the Wii at this time, but I'm also getting a DS lite.
I'm am in fact, a retrogamer, so I'm actually looking forward to this. The Wii, I'll get later. If I wait longer, the more better games for the Wii. I already ordered, so it's coming. :D

NESes are so cheap so its really not a big deal that youre getting one. It came out 20 years ago so nobody is gonna care. Save your money instead to get a Wii. I got a "refurbished" one 2 year ago for $15. Also, any games you get will be used and proably not work half the time. I bought Tetris for 25 cents and it works, but i got SMB2 and it hasn't worked once.

Ikari Warriors
After Burner
Silver Surfer
Battletoads

Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
Super Mario Bros. 2
Battletoads
Double Dragon II: The Revenge
Those are pretty much the gems of what you got so far. You're gonna have a loooot of fun getting good at level 3 on Battletoads. Yeah, heh...heh....yeah.
I seriously recommend looking for SMB 3, Castlevania I and III, Zelda 1, Kirby's Adventure, Mega Man Whatever (Preferably 2 and 3), Little Ninja Brothers, Bionic Commando, Contra, Gradius, TMNT 2, and TMNT 3.
-
Yeah, don't get TMNT one. If you have a lot of patience, get Metroid and Ice Climber, my fav games for NES besides SMB3.
-
Yeah, don't get TMNT one.
Indeed, there's a solid reason it ain't on my list.
-
Also, if you're going to get a Mega Man game, get 3.

Don't forget Hogan's Alley and Wrecking Crew! I'm trying those out as well!

Lucky for me, cause Metroid's in the store that I know that sells NES games. I can get it there.
Also, if you're going to get a Mega Man game, get 3.
I wouldn't try way too hard to find those games since they're in the Anniversary Collection, but if I find them, what the heck, I'll get them.

Hogan's Alley is pretty much Duck Hunt without the fun. Wrecking Crew just gets old in 5 minutes. But hey, whatever works.

Yesterday, I went to buy one NES game. I only had $5, so I bought 10-Yard Fight for NES. 10-Yard Fight, one of the 18 launch titles for the NES. I'm mostly looking for the launch titles. So far, the launch titles I have are:
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
10-Yard Fight
Hogan's Alley
And Wrecking Crew
I don't think I would want the R.O.B., but if I find it, I'll think about getting it.
-
Super Mario Bros. wasn't one of the launch titles, but Duck Hunt was.
Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, on the other hand, came out in later years. ROB with Gyromite and Duck Hunt were what originally came with NES.

Yes it IS! It's true for two reasons: One, it was packaged with the NES, and two, according to Wikipedia:
Nintendo simultaneously released eighteen launch titles: 10-Yard Fight, Baseball, Clu Clu Land, Donkey Kong Jr. Math, Duck Hunt, Excitebike, Golf, Gyromite, Hogan's Alley, Ice Climber, Kung Fu, Mach Rider, Pinball, Stack-Up, Super Mario Bros., Tennis, Wild Gunman, and Wrecking Crew.

There's your first problem. First of all, it doesn't even list Mario Bros. as one of the launch titles. MARIO BROS was indeed a launch title. SUPER Mario Bros, however, was not. I think it came out a few weeks, perhaps a month or two, later. Whoever edited that wikipedia article fails at comprehention.
Also, the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt compilation did not become packaged with NES until 1988. Three years after its launch.
You have to remember that the true NES launch was in New York in 1985, sort of as a test if it would do well in the US (That Wikipedia article makes no mention of this). It was packaged with ROB and Duck Hunt. It did tremendously well, and was released nation-wide soon after, THAT was when Super Mario Bros. came out in the US.

This site covers the launch pretty well.

I prefer the old school games more then the daily games, its cool to get a nes if you ask me.
There are alot of great tittles on the nes like :
Megaman 1 - 6
Zelda
Metroid
Contra
Mario
And alot more :D, i would prefer a nes over a wii, but then again the wii keeps getting new games while the nes will have the same games.
Well see what you like :P
