Um.. so i was in lime wire and this song came up i wanted turned out to be something totally differn't but it said artist was www.protoman.com and i liked it so i went and... ya
but i can't get to it anymore it was under X5 i think it all says torent what's with that?????

Well, to start I'm shocked that Protoman.com songs have found their way onto Limewire. Game/soundtrack mp3s don't generally fare well on P2P....
Since Day 1 is in bold today, that means you can directly download X series songs tomorrow on Day 2.
I don't use the cartoon section, lol ;) However, I've heard they're very good :)

Oh, during the birth of Napster, when it wasn't revealed as a place of illegal downloading, I got video game songs all the time! I would download more songs than what one would think reasonable. I'd enter an artist I'd heard of or my favorite video game and I'd listen on and on! For no reason!

And my dad is a long haul trucker, and he sometimes get's trips to California. I like to go with my dad in the summer, and he may get a trip down around there, but I usually end up in Houston, Texas.

I have a program that could be of great use to you. However, it's an official product and isn't really to good to distribute. It is good, though. Onc eyou load the picture, you can click save as and save it in about 20+ different formats. If you want some info on the best formats, PM me and I can give you the basics.

There was a girl smoking in the hallway of my school today. And by smoking, I don't mean with a cigarette, I mean she had a piece of burning cloth on her, which smelt funny and had a wisp of smoke coming from it. It was promptly put out, but it was rather funny to see.

No, you're not the only one here with their own artwork. Trigger can do pretty good drawings, but he's on vacation at the moment. I think Lazlo Falconi can draw pretty good too, but he chooses to use his sprite avatar.
And no, that Girl on Fire (as we call her now) wasn't stoned. She was just a little slow on the uptake, I think.
And yes, that is a good song.

I can draw not bad, if I am givent eh time to work on it. That's why I couldn't do art class, since all the drawings had deadlines. Give me a few nights to work on a drawing and I can do not bad. I'm working on a cooler version of my Skiver mech avatar (seen to the left)

But its late in Georgia, and I have to go to bed because I need to get up early to finish my Calculus Project. (Im making a Gameboy out of styrofoam (sp?) and using integral calc to find its volume). sounds easy, but look at a 1986 Gameboy and youll see that its no base * width * height deal.

The one on the left is the one I made, but I "borrowed" the animated one from a Sprite thread at Planet Megaman (also a Forum I go to, ask if you wanna know who I am =^-^=).

I'm really very good with 8-bit spriting. Heck, sometimes when I make a guy in 8-bits I draw linbs or entire bodies from scratch. it's cleaner, sometimes faster, and makes it more original looking. Like my old avatar I used to use before I started using sweet mechs. I drew the legs by hand, and much of his face. (I don't plan on using that guy again anytime soon. Some of the older users may recognize him, but I don't sue in face of my freakin cool mech images.)

Maybe that idea we toyed with a bit ago of having a Megaman RPG based on classic megaman series? That'd be cool. We could have cut scenes like on Power Fighters, Sophih could draw those. Neothe0ne, Protoman, both can do music. Any sprites me and Trigger can handle, especially with his pal over on the PMM forums.
What else can you do trigger? You said your flexible.
I recomend Broadus for the resource gathering. In a week or less he found a game I was searching for for years.
Anyone else volunteer?

I know I have RPG Maker XP on this computer, and I think I have RPG Makers 2003 and 2004 on my old computer somewhere. However, I have no experience in using them, as I couldn't get 2003 and/or 2004 to run or something, so.. ;)

man i used to play with rm2k a loooong time ago, but i do know java. We could have trigger dancing for a loading screen, and I have reason 2.5 so i could make an ENTIRELY ORIGINAL soundtrack (i need a better keyboard first). oh and I could also be in charge of advertisement and public relations lol
p.s. check out "Crystal Flash" by Virt, its a compilation of every super metroid song (over 21 minutes). Once i get my new keyboard i was thinking about making a megaman compilation of all the original songs.

I think Protyoman Deserves a game dammit. He's always in the shadows, which even though is his enviornment and such, isn't cool. He needs to have a game, even if he isn't in the spotlight. Blues is the best. And he deserves a shot to prove it, right?
But if its an RPG about classic, I think the same storyline throughout every Classic game might work...

But if it was an RPG like that, this I think it would work pretty well in the MM universe.

We all said hi to Sophih, then some stuff happened ( I can't recall...didn't seem too important though), then the topic of discussion went to danceing, and making a MM RPG.

TRIGGER was dancing because this was the first topic to ever get 2 pages in it. We started talking about each others skills, then Protoman said "wow, people here are not only supportive and appreciative, they're talented, too." So I said we'd be the perfect crew for making a game. And... So it started. I remember in another topic we thought of making a megaman RPG based on the classic series.
What I was thinking if it was a standard megaman game, we'd have an old storyline (from mm1 or something) but the story is SOOO in depth it's hardly the same anymore. (eg: Read ms paint masterpieces in the www.bobandgeorge.com subcomics. Best ever. Better than the main comic.) The only way I can explain this is for you to read ms paint masterpieces. The start of it is an intro to how Megaman came to be, but then shifts over to the first megaman game, and those two events took almost 2 years to do.
Anyways, enough of my rambling. Now, to the topic at hand: Megaman game or Protoman game? I actually don't think that my fanfic will work for a game, since there's a lack of real conflict in it. (See how many way you can beat Megaman with a steel pipe! Points for originality!)

I acually liked your fanfic. And it was funny too, so you do get some points there. I thought it would rpobably work, though I think your fanfic would be best fitted to movies, cuase so far there hasn't really been much action, like you said. You need to make a new chapter Or put in that old Chap 3 you said you had.
Fanfics don't normally make good games, normally becuase if you make one it has to be involved with the story, and you have to tell the story it can't just get to certain points and be random. Thats probably the hardest part of making an RPG like that. An example would be when Protoman smashed those 2 Robots in. Unless you just want a random battle or somethin, then show what happens at the end, it would be hard to convey it right. Unless you wanna cut some corners, and be lazy...
Thats my thoughts on it though. It could work, with enough effort put into it.

Maybe i'll work on a new protoman fanfic. I sorta had two ideas to go on when I started, and I went with this one. I'll make the new one more 'game-worthy', meaning plenty of action, story, a lot less dialogue, stuff like that. Now, if only I could remember that story.... If you have an idea Trigger or Herb (The only two people to read my fanfic) then I'll see if I can make it a story.

But if I think of anything I'll be sure to give you a heads up. Though I liked your fanfic that you've got going, I wish you'd make more of it. It doesn't mave to be "game worthy". You could take stick people and make A stickman RPG. it just seemed to be best the way it was, or to have it shown better, such as comic, or movie wise.
And I just always thought Protoman deserved a good role in a 2-D platformer Like Megaman, and even Bass got a maor role in R&F. They each have their own good things. And some things everyone else didn't have ya know?
Megaman could always slide and had rush with him, for basicly everything. Bass had the double jump and dash, with treble helping him. I think Protoman would be good with a wall jump, jumping from wall to wall, and dash, and possibly beat and/or tango at his side.
But thats just me.

He had Beat on his side in The Power Fighters for CPS2 (Beat gave him limited invincibility), and a wall jump, so it wouldn't be hard if we used those sprites that are pseudo mm7 style, the way they are. And there's 16-bit Tango sprites on the internet, mostly on bobandgeorge, so those aren't a problem. Now for that story line...
When I was writing my fanfic I imagined having it as a motion picture with those anime cutscenes in Power Fighters, how they move and have mouths moving and stuff, just made to look like Power Fighters.
(If you want the rom of Power fighters, go to www.emuasylum.com and get the emulator Kawaks. Play away, it's quite a good game.)
Anyone else have any idea's of a 2-d protoman side scroller story? I don't think "Wily has kidnapped Megaman! Save him, protoman!" will do very well.

An RPG that takes an idea from Mario RPG: HAVING THE USUAL ENEMY BE GOOD! What if a new character was introduced (im sure someone around here can make a good original sprite), and Wily was forced to side with Protoman/Megaman. Maybe the master robots could be stolen and used agains this new team, but once they're defeated then they can join your party.
Or, wily could make a totally new robot for your team, using mixed parts from defeated robot masters. Thats sound complicated, but imagine is a professional developer did that!

Acually their canceling that project, there wasn't enough support. you guys should've helped. T_T Though they may restart it sometime.
If there is ever going to be anything simaler to a FPS featuring megaman, I think it should be done in a form simaler to "Oddworld: Strangers Wrath" Its a great game, that did 3rd to 1st person action very well. I think it should be like that if any. You all have to go rent it and play it now, thought its only for the X-box. But I'll give the best description that I can.
In Strangers Wrath, which happened to be a FPS/Platformer game, you could fight in both 3rd person with physical attacks to nearby enemys, OR you could pull out your crossbow and take em out thats way. All you had to do was press in the R stick, and it did the transition from 3rd to first well. And thats way would be best for megaman, just have close quarters attacked, then switch to your buster like that for far enemies. It seems like the best way for a game of its nature.

You know, i'm likeing this Idea more and more. Though I would prefer Protoman to be in 32-bit, OR his R&F form, though there are some missing frames it is still possible.
but the plot may not be the most involving and such, but has a MM plot EVER been any better? Can you honestly say, that the same plot in 8 games would be any better? I think thats simple might be the best way.

I think the way megaman legends was done was good. Just having all third person. But, it wouldn't feel like a classic game if we made it like that. Has to be 2D.
Yes, there is a lack of good 32-bit Protoman sprites. That's why I suggested using his Power Fighters sprites, since there's a good variety of them, and it would be easier to make custom sprites for him in 16 bits.

This is true, customizing(or making totally new) 32 bit sprites is a real pain. 16 bit sprites look good and for the most part there's virtually no visible difference.

So the game idea has come up again... how about a Mega Man Tetris clone? It could be more like Dr. Mario with the weaknesses getting rid of the various robot masters though. >_>

HOLY CRAP YES (of course everybody knows i would like this)
you "battle" against the other robot masters, and each one has its own cool way of using a special move to delete its blocks or add blocks to your side. whenever they're beaten you can use their power in the next round (to make this fair, you can choose 2-3 powers to use before each round)
Tetris: the Grandmaster has sooooo many awesome power-ups, including mega-huge death blocks and making your pieces invisible.

plus we could have totally remixed tracks (eventually made by me) that will start as peaceful (maybe orchestral), but as the peices go higher or the levels increases, the songs will grow faster, more industrial and of course more frantic

Protoman Sidescroller Crew-ish people.
Sophih: Drawing and art. I think maybe as discussed before a Megaman Power Battles (or PF I can't remember) type of still animation. How the people talking would be shown, but not animated. Like cutscenes.
Swift: Writing, i've had some Ideas, but he doesn'tlike them. So I'm trusting Swift to come up with a good storyline. And if he fails me then OFF WITH HIS HEAD NEEHEHEHEHEHEH!!!
Trigger: Undecided. Ok look, if its a 2-d sidescroller, then perhapes I should work on the sprites. Since there are missing sprites in Protomans Sheet from R&F, I could make those ones, Wall jump, charging, Sheild usage and such. I would also probably be best if I gathered what was needed as well, resources. And I know a few people who are good at making sprites.

Protoman, rather disgruntled at Dr. Light's recurring alzheimers. Roll was going to have to call a docter on that....
"Wait! I remember now!"
Protoman stopped, but didn't turn around. Dr. Light knew Protoman enough that he was listening, and didn't need to wait for him to turn to face his creator.
Dr. Light cleared his throat and explained the problem. "Dr. Cossack was experimenting with a cold fusion reactor in Russia, and it went horribly wrong. He had it hooked up to a robot creator, and it's working like a charm, but it's not a 'cold' fusion reactor. The surrounding temperature is over 500 degrees celcius. No human can get close enough to the reactor to shut it down."
"So what does this have to do with me?"
"Megaman is busy with Dr. Wily, and Dr. Cossack personally asked you for the job of turning off the reactor."
Protoman nodded and turned to leave. "Give me the coordinates and I'll go stop it."

Dr. Light opened a wall console, revealing a small keyboard. He punched a few buttons.
A holographic projector rose out of the floor. Dr. Light tapped a few more keys and the flickering image of a buiding appeared. Stairs laced the sides of it, all many stories high before they reached any sort of landing.
"This is the reactor. The main switch to turn off the core is...." The image zoomed into a room inside the building. "Here. There is an anti-teleport field around the reactor, so you can't just zip right in. You'll have to climb these..." The image scrolled past a few flights of stairs before coming across a door. "You'll have to go through a series of hallways before reaching the switch room. After you turn the power off, the anti-teleportation field will be disabled, and you can just teleport back to here."
Protoman nodded. It was going to be hard, but if Megaman could destroy Wily 9 times, he surely could do this.
"Okay." Protoman breathed in and sighed. "Let's do this."
Dr. Light tapped in a few more keys in his wall console and the projector disappeared in the floor. A few more keys were tapped and Protoman recieved the coordinates for his teleport.
"Good luck."
"I don't need luck. I have skill."
Protoman engaged his teleporter and was on his way.
Huh? Huh? Not bad for being completely on the fly!

I like it swift.
Though I think that if it were only that one tower it would be a short game. And I think The Megaman Series NEEDS some depth for once. Upgrades, vehicles, the whole shabang. So you might want to give it some more story.
