Rosato's mental health declined in recent years. He has been in jail in Kingston, Ontario since 2005, pending trial on charges of criminally harassing his wife whom he believes was abducted by aliens and replaced by an impostor. He has been diagnosed with Capgras syndrome, but insists he is sane. His estranged wife wants him to be placed in a psychiatric facility.
