Title: What were you like at 12?
Post by: Kagemitsu on June 26, 2005, 01:01:58 am
I always find this to be an interesting topic of conversation.

What were you like when you were 12 years old? Say your personality, your friends, what video game or anime character you were like, etc.

Myself, think Ted from Snowcraft and you have me. Shy, reclusive, couldn't talk, no friends, things like that. In fact, Swiftman nailed me right on with Ted. Just think Ted when you think me.

Hmm, me at 12?  'Twas only almost 4 years ago so I'm not different at all, actually.  Shy and quiet at most times, I like to keep to myself but when I'm with good friends I'm a completley different person.  Enough about that, though.  Lesse, basically I had the same friends I do now, heh.  What games did I like when I was 12, though?  Hoo boy, Gamecube is what I remember most, I remember it like yesterday.  It was March of 2002, and I finally got one (Me and my dad searched at least 3 Gamestops until we finally found one that had them in stock XD) and bought Super Smash Bros. Melee as well.  Good times, good times.

Me at twelve?

The same way I am now, with one less friend (only friend by the way), used to wear sweat pants and a tight shirt to school everyday, loser, big loser, biggest loser in the school. Even the lesser  loser's didn't want me around. Fat, ugly, no talents, basicly failed every class, did I mention I'm a loser?

That's basicly all I have to say. If you get ONE person from the middle school were I was, and tell them my name, they would say "Oh that loser?" right off the bat.

Man, you sure could have used Snowcraft if it was real, eh Trig?

I myslef don't remember too much, but I remember being quite a bit of a loser (1 friend, Kary, and she beat me up all the time) but one thing I remember distinctly is being rather like Deccus from my story, being that I tried way too hard at whatever I did. If I played Descent, I put my all into it. Now, I just kinda let stuff go. If I died when I was 12, I beat myself up about it on the inside, and made myself try harder. Now, if I die, meh. I got another life. (However few, since you need every life you can get against Superhulk.)

So ye, that was me.

At 12? Err... Lessie... I had... uhm just the one friend, I had recently moved back into Englewood, and there was no one there that knew me. I stayed to myself and watched TV a lot, because again, I didn't know anyone, except this one guy, we were good friends, closer than an ass to a chair. But now he's a emo jerk and I don't talk to him.
Being 12 sucks.

it was very different than it is now. think one single page, yellow text on black background, flash man midi playing with crescendo plugin (if you had it), two pictures of treble and a picture of protoman, and that was about it. original url was: http://www.iwl.net/customers/jjahnke/bin/

it's a shame i don't have it anymore. the earliest design i still have comes from around late 1997 or early 1998 (http://nate.metroid2002.com/tph-1998.jpg).

For a twelve year old that's pretty damn impressive. I didn't even know about the internet until I was 14. (But I'm a country boy, so I have an excuse. XD)

man, for twleve that's pretty damn good indeed....

When I was twelve I had learned that after 4 years of beating up Swift, I learned that my best weapon was the legendary 2x4. I started with a simple 2x2, but eventually worked up to the level of the increased thickness of the 2x4 from the 2x2 to effectively use it as an increased weight for more powerful hits and the better width made for effective shielding, too. And, after another 4 years of training myself with the 2x4 (training=taking potshots at Swift) I can now use a good, sturdy piece of lumber as a lethal weapon.

Don't beat yourself up for having a site taht wasn't... professional at age twelve. Most people didn't even know what HTML was at twelve. (took me untill I was 13 to learn that much)

I don't like showing many people this but since we're on the subject.

2001, 12 years old, first website ever.  Comparing the original TPH to this makes TPH look like the greatest site ever.  I made those comics a long, long time ago when I first started making 'em.  I made this site to showcase 'em.  Let the flames commense.

That's not too bad a site, hm, I know I still have somewhere my very first site created in html and MSPaint, I just have to hook up my old hard drive to get it. I wonder if I still have the Flaming Monkey's Video Game Anime and Spaceship Emporium that I made afterward... that's the first site that ever hit the net (if you don't count that horrible one page site a friend and I decided to make, that was never updated)
