This is truly a sad day for any fan of comedy, no matter where your comedic tastes lie. Richard Pryor, arguably the greatest stand-up comedian of all time, died this morning at a hospital near Los Angeles. The reported cause of death was a heart attack--isn't it always?--but Pryor had already been battling multiple sclerosis for many years. Ah, tis sad indeed.  I saw one of his shows on Comedy Central last year.  One of the funniest things I've seen in years.  And to think, he's from Illinois.

Wow...how do some of you people not know of Richard Pryor?  He was truly a comedy god, and he shall be missed.

I never knew his name, but man, he was a great guy. I'm glad I've gotten to see some of his sets.

I'll admit I didn't know of him until last night.  Must have been one damn good comic.

Apparently he lit himself on fire whilst doing coke-related activites.  That's gotta be interesting.

OH  NOEZ I NEVAR HERD OF THSI RICHARD PRYOR!!111! I HAV NOE LIEF!

To those that knew him, he sounded like a good person with a wonderful sense of humour. Wish I'd have seen some of his stuff.
