Wait, You need an emulator. Just getting a rom itself is useless.
Once you get the program ZSNESW from www.emureactor.com (you need to log in under your account to download it, though.) then download a rom from the SNES list. Go to the M section and get megaman X. It's a good game for beginners to the series, since it's easy to understand once you set you're buttons. Then, put the rom (leave it zipped) and put it in the same folder as your emulator (if you don't have winzip or winrar, I suggest you get one of them) then, click on the ZSNESW program icon. it looks like smarties in a cup looking on top, so click on it and click load. If your rom is in the same folder as the emulator, then it should be right there. Double click on it and play.
You'll want to set your keys up in the config menu. Input#1. The arrow buttons are easy to get, start si to pause, select isn't used in megaman's, but the rest are tricky.
A: dash (a later skill)
B: jump
X: not used
Y: shoot
L+R: not important
Once you set up the buttons to how you like, play away!

I should have gottens someone else to write this. I wasn't very good.

Or, if you don't have an account at www.(whatevercrappyromsiteheplugged).com, you could go to the source: http://www.zsnes.com and get the newest version. For ROMs, I suggest http://www.qualityroms.com, but they haven't updated in aeons. They still have some great SNES, Genesis, and NES ROMs though.

www.emrueactor.com isn't a crappy rom site. It's a very good site. All you need is an account (which is easy to obtain) and everything the site has to offer is at your hands.

If you're looking for goodsets, grh.se has never been a problem for me... (well, not counting those few months where they were down, heh)

Anything you have to register for to get stuff usually just wants to spam my inbox. I don't want that. I want free downloads damnit! I don't want to help support people!

There's no spam on emureactor, b'sides the oddd post in the forums. I'm one of the biggest people on their forum, and I've only ever recieved 7 PM's, and that was from people I know on the forum.

I just kinda skipped through this whole thread, cuase I felt like it =P, but I will give my two cents.

Cool Roms is a good Rom & Emulator Site. And Most of them are free, no pop ups, spam, yada yada you get the idea, right?

Just google it and you'll know it when you see it.

Yeah, for roms I go to www.emuasylum.com and emulators I go to www.zophar.net (of course).
And I go to emureactor mainly because of the rep I have made on the forum there. Make a post there, people will call you newb, until I say you're a friend of mine. BAM! Instant respect for you. Worked on Sophih and the_broom, and it'd work for you too, Lazlo and Trigger.

although there is a little bit of naughty ad banners, www.romnation.net has pretty much every rom ever made, and I would definetly recommend downlaoding ZINC and then getting the TETRIS: THE GRANDMASTER rom

Don't even think about challenging me in Tetris until you are a Grandmaster ranking

I just read all that and now I'm so glad that I have the real working Mega Man X cartridge...
I just can't stand ROMs. I'd get into why, but I would make a short story long because I have nothing better to do.

You should all go to rom-source.com, it's legal because we decided to get rid of the ROMs (for some reason that's totally beyond me)
And Swiftman, I don't need your help establishing a good rep, my headstrong ideas and the fact that I'm always right make me instantly exceptted anywhere I go!

And that spelling was no mistake.

Ooooooooohhhhhhhhh..... if you do that at emureactor forums, you WILL be shot down and repressed into a corner. THey don't take too kindly to those kinds. The mods there ain't as forgiving as Protoman or Bladegash.
Has a topic ever even been locked on the TPH forums?

Meh, don't feel too bad. It was inevatable. Topics get locked every five minutes at other larger forums, its only a matter of time before TPH gets that way. They are going to....the dark side.

...BTW I saw Star Wars Episode 3 today XD

Topics get locked left and right on emureactor, since all the n00bs are asking for n64 and GBA roms, and we aren't going to asdd those for another few years, when Nintendo can't make money off those consoles anymore!

I saw episode III last night. Whent he droids stormed the wookie beach, my first thought was "SAILING MISHAP!" (don't get it? go to www.homestarrunner.com)
