Well, according to the screenshots, it looks to have more traditional-style gameplay (along the lines of the Classic / X / Zero Series), but I could be wrong...

Hopefully it's still a bit different, though, because those games are... fun, but... eh. I'm kinda bored of that after 15 years.

They also desperatly need to do this to the Descent series. Descent 3 was way too open, needs to be in mineshafts to be a true Descent.

Descent totally needs some sort of boundary; although it'd be cool if they did a few levels in some sort of space wreckage in order to some variation.

It seems though the rumored new series is no longer a rumor.
Not only does this series have a new, seemingly final name -- "Rockman ZX" -- but Rockman Perfect Memories has obtained what looks like concept (perhaps even final) art for the main characters.

As the art style indicates, not only is this game apparently being developed by the same studio that did work on the Zero series for GBA, but it may even take place during the same time--maybe even as a direct continuation of the Zero series. (Remember the ending of Zero 4?)

Agreed. Kefka just dresses how he wants, but he's not anorexic skinny, like MMZ characters.
Maybe we wouldn't mind those MMZ douches if they had lines like "Hate hate HATE!" and stuff.

Agreed. Kefka just dresses how he wants, but he's not anorexic skinny, like MMZ characters.
