There was a Megaman X manga in Japan that did that. Started from X1 I believe. Or I think it made up it's own episodes based loosely around the games.

There was a Megaman anime not too long ago. It released on DVD in 2004. Megaman: Once Upon a Star. So, HA!!!

-_-; THat isn't the X anime. Either it's the OVA series, or the 1990s Mega Man. But it did had a Mega X episode from the 90s' series.

Battle Network (NT Warrior) gets messed around with all the time.

This is nothing new, it's been that way since the show first aired.

Don't worry, it'll be back next year.
