Music similarities
« on: March 19, 2005, 04:32:11 pm »
so i just, ahem, acquired this r.e.m. song "all the right friends" because bladegash told me it sounds like a cover of elec man's theme, and guess what, it does. it's pretty creepy.

someone emailed me a while back to say that neon tiger's stage sounds like a guns'n'roses song called my michelle ... but i haven't found the time to confirm this. is it true?

and what other similarities have you noticed?

Uh.. My Michelle appears in Guns N Roses's "Appetite for Destruction," released in 1987.  Everything except the first few seconds and chorus sounds a whole lot like Neon Tiger's theme... (MMX3 was released 1995).  Minakuchi Engineering Team ripped them off, maybe..?  I can't imagine the other distinguished Capcom composers would do such a thing, but the engineering team in the composers list is really vague and different...
agerly anticipating:
Super Smash Bros. Revolution, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and last but not least, DDR SuperNOVA!

No, I meant "Minakuchi Engineering Team" appears in the list of composers for Mega Man X3's music.  That's the only time in the Megaman series that I'm aware of where one of the main composers isn't actually.. a composer.

*edit*
Okay, now I've listened to R.E.M. - All the Right Friends.  The earliest release date for that song I can find is 2001, from the Vanilla Sky soundtrack.  In this case, it's R.E.M. ripping off Capcom's composers ;)

Super Smash Bros. Revolution, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and last but not least, DDR SuperNOVA!

yea i remeber listening to that in disbelief

also, does anyone see how Plantman's and Quickman's song sounds VERY much alike in the beginning? I always thought that Capcom couldve done a differnet tune to be more different, but maybe they were running out of ideas

Yes, but don't you think Capcom has enough originality to create new songs? ;)

Btw, I forgot one:
X1 Vava 2 -- X5 Langdabangda

Super Smash Bros. Revolution, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and last but not least, DDR SuperNOVA!

yea i totally agree i know Capcom has the ability to make awesome music (or else this website wouldn't really exist), so you'd assume that they wouldn't even have similarities, especially in short intros
