General / How has your month been?
« on: July 29, 2005, 07:29:44 pm »
Now that July is practically over, let's see how everyone's month has been.

Me? Well, my best friend DIED on July 1, usually among my favorite days of the year, Faris broke her leg a few days ago, and now, today, on July 29, exactly one month before my 17th birthday, Lacus has died.

That's right. You read me correctly.

Lacus died by taking a dive off of a cliff by a deep part of the river me, Kary and beforehand Faris swam in all the time. The deep part has a dropoff to it, and the other part is rather shallow

Well, Lacus dived, and she missed the deep part... She hit the rock line far too quickly... I saw that she had missed.... I swam to her, picked her up and brought her onto the shore. I set her down and looked her over.

She wasn't good. Froma  first look over I could tell she had a broken neck, broken collarbone, broken shoulders, and one could sense the internal bleeding. And.... I could feel her dying....

I hastily picked her up again and took her to the Richman's pickup truck. They tried to drive as fast as possible for the nordegg hospital, but...... it was too late...

Lacus died in my arms today. I held her until the last, as a big brother, and I almost felt her leave her tattered body behind.... It wasn't a good feeling.... I felt her rise up, heard her last words, and I almost felt her spiritual self wave goodbye at me. It didn't leave me feeling too happy, but in a way, I felt glad that I was there, to feel her saying goodbye....

I know that Lacus would have wanted you all to know this, so I told you all. Thank you.

General / dididdidi INSPECTOR GADGET!

dididi didi HOO HOO!

Who else remembers this awesome old show? I founda  piec eof Inspector Gadget fanart on google and it triggered a nostalgic relapse for me. Check it:

Is that or is that not cool?

I remember watching thsi show.... So long ago.... It was on first thing when I got off the bus after school. I just ran in the house, turned the TV on, switched to channel 13 and watched away, enraptured for the next 30 minutes. Whenever Kary was over, she did the same as me.

So, anyone else have fond memories of this awesome old show? Here're some clips to trigger some memories:

I can't feckin believe it... I go back to my campsite for the week, and who happens to be in the site next to me? (besides the uber nice Richman)

Three girls, all around my age, all alone, just them, and they're all right beside my site. And they ain't bad to look at, either.

However, all of them but one hates video games. Only one of them likes them, and she hasn't had hardly any oppurtunity to play them. So, being the nice guy I am, I introduce her to some good ol' classics. Descent, Metal Warriors, GUNSTAR HEROES (I would introduce her to Privateer, but that game is very hard to get working.)

And so, she's very much enjoying Descent, and we're about to introduce her to Starcraft LAN parites. Me, Kary, Richman, her, all trying to swarm each other, it'll be great.

Me and Kary have even come up with a nickname for her already (ala how all members of my group must have before entry) and we all decided that her nickname will be..... *whispers* Drumroll!
 oops, sorry. *starts the drumroll*
Thank you. The gamer at heart that has never played more then 2 games in her life up until now shall be nicknamed: FARIS!

That's right. Faris from FF5. There isn't any real relation between FF5 Faris and real Faris, but it was a name that came to our head first, and it stuck.

So yes, in due time, expect a new member on TPH by the name of Faris. However, one reason she won't join now is that there are so many unfamiliar people on TPH, and that she is slightly scared of Trigger (mainly at his new method of defense from Kary, what with the rubbing lotion and all)

So, I'm asking you, the people of TPH, is to give Faris words of encouragement that may convince her to join TPH. She could use the wisdom offered in the depths of TPH, and some friends that can guide her down the path of gaming.

General / A final farewell to a friend
« on: July 16, 2005, 07:25:39 pm »
Today, on July 16, 2005, was the funeral procession for my best friend, Kelly Brian Johnson, better known to all of you as Kagemitsu.

Kagemitsu was amongst the nicest people in this whole world that I have known. He always wanted to give and share to others, but he never could very well. He had nothing to give, other than the promise of his undying friendship. It broke one's heart to see him sad, and it livened one's face to see him happy. He wanted nothing more than a few good friends and time spent with them. This I gave to him, to the best of my ability, and I would say I had succeeded. I gave him a friend, and thus giving him many more. He had taken a special place in the hearts of me, Kary, Lacus, Broom, Garland and Galda. He had never met Galda, but he dearly wished to. Galda gave Kagemitsu a different kind of friendship then I did. Galda gave him purpose. Kagemitsu managed Galda's monthly top ten NES game votes, commonly done on Emureactor. It gave Kagemitsu such a feeling of pride that he had accomplished something that everyone benefited from.

Many of you don't know this, but Kagemitsu had fallen deeply in love with Lacus, a girl that had similar upbringings. They both shared tragedy after tragedy, all in the course of their lives. Many others would have given up if they had gone through what they had to, but they were the strong ones, and toughed it out. They were amongst the best of friends one could ever meet, but Kagemitsu was still always shy to her. He was never shy to Kary, but he always was to Lacus. He felt that his greatest accomplishment was successfully teaching Lacus sign language. He was planning on using her new found knowledge to confide his love to her, during the camping trip that I have enjoyed.

But, as we all know, this never succeeded. He took a tragic fall on July 1, off the edge of a staircase, and landed at the bottem, right on his neck. He died from that instantly, and I watched as it happened. I did not cry immediatly, but nor did I rush to him. I knew what had happened, and I knew nothing I oculd do could stop it. Kary and Lacus, who also witnessed it happen, were not so strong. They broke down and cried, because they knew what had happened. All I did was go to the phone, called the hospital, and told them that there was a body to pick up. The police came with them, and they gave me, Kary and Lacus a questioning. We told them the truth, and we weren't found guilty, and we just watched as they wrapped up Kagemitsu's limp body and drove off. After that, I went to my room, turned my ocmputer on, went to TPH, and told everyone on here of what happened. It was  then that the knowledge truly sunk in, and my eyes began to leak onto the keyboard. In a way that was good, since it needed a cleaning under the keys. But, as I wrote those words on TPH, I went onto MSN messenger, and saw Sophih and Trigger online. With the help of those two people, I became happier. I was extremely saddened and disheartened before that, but those two put me straight. For that, I am indebted to the both of them. Sophih's caring words and Trigger's unfalliable wit and humour made me a happy person once again.

What I made this topic for is for all of you, the frequent goers of TPH, is to pretend that you are standing over Kagemitsu's body in the coffin, as if you were paying your final respects.

Please. I would appreciate it, and so would Kagemitsu. If you dind't know him, then don't come posting: "I didn't know him. I don't have anything to say." If that's what you're going to say, then please, don't post. Leave this thread solely for the people that knew Kagemitsu to pay their respects.

Thank you.

« on: July 15, 2005, 05:33:07 pm »
what are the dimensions allowed for a url hosted avatar? I noticed that Superyoshi's avatar is a bit bigger than most of our other ones, and certaintly bigger than 120*120.

So, anyone wanna help me? I have a sweet avatar that I wanna use, but it looks bad when it's resized. (resized in photoshop, not Paint.)

General / So, I shall be gone soon....
« on: July 04, 2005, 07:43:07 pm »
Yes, that's right. I'M LEAVING FOREVER!!! MWAHAHAHAHA! Rrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttt. TPH is too good to leave, man.

I'll just be going for the week, then the next week, then the week after that, and the week after that. Hell, from today to July 29. I will return on weekends, though, and expect a regular diarhea of posts from me then.
For that time until the 29, I shall be camping in Nordegg. After all that's been ahppening, perhaps a little time away from the computer will help. I'm a strange mix of country boy and computer nerd, and my nerdish side has been oddly satisfied and my country boy not so much. (My OTHER side is going crazy, though.)
So, it'll just be me, Kary, and Lacus camping. *sighs* We used to have plans for six... At least there isn't as many tents to set up. I wish that was the only thing that was bothering me.... (name that quote and get +5 grace points with Kary)

So yes, me, Kary and Lacus (who now? HA!) will not be posting during the week. I wouldn't even be posting now, if it wasn't for my grandpa's funeral, so I have but a few minutes until I leave, so POST QUICK! Or, whatev. I can read them on Friday night.

Adios, amigo's.

General / Anyone suggest a pick-me-up?
« on: July 01, 2005, 01:31:20 am »
I've been feeling rather down recently, and I have valid reasons for it.

1. People seem to be avoiding me on MSN, and I usaully only see Clest online anymore.
2. After I beat Descent, I've had no desire to play my second favorite game of all time. I've tried other games, but to no avail.
3. I broke my shiny wireless headphones. Bleh. They were nice ones, too.
4. My grandpa just died today. Go figure.
5. TPH music is BitTorrent only. And I don't use BT. Bleh. At least the reason is for too much popularity.

Anyone suggest a way that I can cheer up? I need all the help I can get....

This is possibly the most badass grandpa you'll ever hear of. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/kenya_leopard_dc;_ylt=A86.I2Rb5LlCCCwAmwoDW7oF;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl Right here. Damn, that is one badass grandpa. He killed a leopard with his bare hands! You can't tell me that isn't badass.

General / Your favorite member
« on: June 23, 2005, 02:43:06 am »
Who here, on TPH, would be your favorite of all the other ones here?
I have a few.... (I will exclude Broom and co. naturally, since they're my friends in real life and would vote them naturally)

Bladegash: Hands-down the funniest mod on any other forum I go to. He has little to do here, seeing as how we're all mature and stuff, but he's possibly the funniest member here, I'd say.

Trigger: For being the one to take the most interest in my Snowcraft story, and being the guy that calls me Shanks. XD

Lazlo Falconi: For simply being awesome, and your excellent cakes.

Herb: For taking an interest in everthing I write, and for coming up with the idea to the coolest fight scene in Snowcraft.

Protoman: We all know what he's cool for. His awesomeness speaks for itself, I don't need to repeat it.

Robotknight Crystal: I'll just call you Clest. You're cool without my saying so. You're a very good drawwer too.

neothe0ne: For greatly contributing to TPH in more ways than one.

Sophih: Last but not least, Morrigan. For being... Well, Morrigan. You're the coolest girl I know, and that's including Kary. *runs from thrown 2x4*

That about covers it for me. XD Enough people, you think?

General / Where are we headed if this is us now?
« on: June 21, 2005, 12:47:24 pm »
There are times in my life that I realize how pitiful humans really are. Like when Sophih pointed out the 'time machine powered by imagination". (I really hate the feckin space bar on this school comp.) Another time is when Trigger pointed out that Nazi gay-camp. Just points in my life where I remark the pitifulness of out race.

Right now, is one of those times.

I'm so disgusted I can hardly speak. I am, in no part blaming this on Blizzard. Even though they are 'indirectly' responsible for this sad news, but I say it was a fault entirely of the parents. "The infant was the couple's only child." really? I damn we hope so. When I become a parent, the kid comes first, then my wife, then friends, then anything else I think of. *hugs IBM Aptiva*

Let's see what you all think of this.

General / BATMAN BEGINS!
« on: June 18, 2005, 06:41:27 pm »
THIS MOVIE IS THE COOLEST EVER! IT BEATS DOWN EVEN SPIDERMAN 2 AND THE INCREDIBLES!

Seriously, if you like Batman, even the tiniest bit, WATCH THIS MOVIE! Seriously, even if you don't like Batman (How could you not?) WATCH THIS FREAKING SWEET MOVIE! I tell you, THIS MOVIE PUTS PAID TO ALL THE OTHER ONES DONE WRONG!

Look at that, and tell me that's not cool. If you don't like this movie, I'll have Kary come and beat you to submission (or she will herself, she likes this movie too)

Heh... If you think this was a bad fanboy spurt, just wait until I see the Fantastic Four movie....

General / An interesting quiz
« on: June 10, 2005, 10:09:25 am »
I took this quiz, which was posted on another forum I go to. I like this one because of it's accuracy.

http://similarminds.com/global-adv.html

My results were very accurate to what I'm like, and others have had very good success at being accurate. I like it.
