Games just aren't my thing anymore.
Either they've gotten more boring, or I've just grown out of them over the last 100 years.
Does anyone agree?

The newer games are not as fun as older games. But I do play less games then I used to.

I thought I was feeling the same thing, but then the one worry that was stopping me from playing them was alleviated, and now I'm fully enjoying good ol' DOS games. Doom, Blood, Quake, Commander Keen, Bio Menace, Master of Orion, One Must Fall, Civalization...... I've been using a keyboard FAR before a controller, and the keyboard shall forever remain my main method of controlling. Never will it stop. Mouse + Keyboard = Any genre of game masterfully controlled, expeccially with practice. FPS's are infinently easier with a mouse than some stick.
As a note, play Doom. Even the shareware version is long enough to more than occupy you for a few days, and it works near perfectly on win XP. [just make sure to set the music card setting to general midi, sound blaster music suxxorz on win XP for DOS.]

I don't know why, but with that one fear I had gone, I'm absolutely loving these kinds of games. Running around with a gun [or chainsaw. YEE HAW!] blasting zombies around and into pieces, it's such great fun....

Fun fact: Almost all the music from Doom is inspired by heavy metal songs by Metallica, Pantera and the like. I heard one of the creators was a former lawyer, so he knew exactly how much of the song he could put into the game without being sued.

Pixels everywhere, annoying sounds, silly game play.

He hates Doom, which is more or less the same engine with less features, so why would he like Wolfenstein 3D?
Also, don't take it the wrong way. I love Wolfenstein 3D. It was the first FPS I ever played, and it still holds up to this day if you ask me.

Yep, they suck. The PS2 has one or two gems, the Xbox has one or two gems(which is really, all on the PC anyways), and the GCN has one or two gems...other than that...utter crap compared to the SNES and Gens days...

I only got it recently. But it has elements from the older Mega Man games, as well as th ebattle chips form EXE. It's the best of both worlds.

Catacomb Abyss owns Wolfenstein. It's older, better decorated [it's not the same damn level over and over and over aain, it has LOTS of variety as the levels progress, more variety of weapons {well, the main weapon in the same, but there's no limit to ammo, and the Spread shot kicks ass] The only thing one person could see wrong with Catacomb Abyss over Wolfenstein is the fact that Catacomb is EGA and Wolfenstein is VGA graphics.
Catacomb Abyss kicks total ass. Better than Wolfenstein by far, if you ask me. [but Blood and Strife hold the crown for best FPS's for me]

YEs! I loved the Cactacomb Abyss! That is one of my (and my dad's) favorite video games!

Lugi's Mansion sucked, Sunshine was lack luster, Prime isn't as good as others in the Series. Four Swords was quick and simple, and all the others, cept WW, are ports.
Lazlo's list, everything but Super Smash, AC, and F-Zero is still boring, not as good as other games you can get.

you obviously dont like change, well, change can be good. those games were fun, Luigis Mansion may have not had much replay value, but it was something different, SM SS was a great game, odd, but great, Prime was different, all these titles (cept Zelda) were different from the original formula, so, originality is a bad thing?

FFVII wasn't fantasy. It was set in a techno-world. It should've been named "Final Tech1." It SUCKED GOAT BALLS!

The only Final Fantasy game worth playing on a Sony console is FFIX.
That game rocks, but I still consider FFVI as my favorite.

Metroid Prime is one of the best in the series. . .
It's right next to Super Metroid, it's an incredibly immersive game that successfully made a side scroller into a first person adventure game with guns (not a first person shooter), it was a damn fine game and I liked it from beginning to end.
Metroid Fusion is probably the worst.
