Title: Megaman Zero?
Post by: Trigger on March 28, 2005, 10:32:02 am
I was acually wondering if you have had any intentions of recording the music from the Megaman Zero games. many of the songs I liked. Like the intro stage music to MMZ2 (Though I prefer the credits version better).

if anyone would be willing to send me the games, i would love to record the music.

however, the condition is that i get to keep the games. ;)

I have but one thing to say about this....though I'm not even sure I'm allowed to talk about it here >> but what the hell...What is your oppinion about roms?

I loooove roms!

Of course the music isnt as good, but i think roms are a good way to play a game thet you dont have. I have all of the Megaman roms, and if it werent for them i wouldnt know all of the songs by heart. Sure, it's illegal to have them, but using a rom to test a great game could help you decide whether to buy it or not.

This site is not about emulation.  If you want that, go to www.caitsith2.com.

This site is about line-in recordings, XA rips, CD rips.. music from the original source.

Thats not really what I meant. >>

What I was asking was if he approved of using ROM's to get the music from instead of the acuall games.

Does emulation fit into line-in recordings, XA rips, CD rips, or "original source"?

(in other words, emulation to record the music is a NONO)

I could make an arguement about how you can download an emulater to play the acuall games on your computer....but I think I won't....>>

We'll....looks like I'm boned.....

I know all about emulation.  You asked about using emulation for the music.  It doesn't happen at this site.

lol, sorry for being overly harsh.  it's just.. line-in recording is so much harder than lazy emulation wave-outs.  you'll understand if u undertake it...

i think the bad probably outweighs the good, but it's definitely not a one-sided argument. so much good has come out of emulation in terms of testing and discoveries that you really can't discount them as 'just some illegal tripe' anymore. of course, the bad would be people thinking they're substitutes for the original games. i think of them as more like an interesting new way to look at the games, offering a lot of potential, rather than as copies of the original games.

I have mm zero 3 cartridge. I don't play it or anything. Once I get the money and finish ripping some game songs for you, I'll send the cartridge and cd's with songs to you, Protoman. This could be awhile though, since I have no source of income at the moment. (I'm 16, so it's alright if I don't have a job)

Does anyone have an estimate of how much it would cost to ship a parcel from Alberta Canada to Lubbock, Texas? Maybe I'll wait til summer and I can go with my dad, who is a long haul trucker, and ship it from Houston, which will probably be about $60-200 cheaper than from Canada.
Title: Megaman Zero?
Post by: protoman on April 01, 2005, 08:14:45 pm
it shouldn't cost much. maybe $5 max? not sure what that is in canadian but probably not much more.

also, i'm 20 and i don't have a job (not a "real" one, anyway). ;P
Title: Megaman Zero?
Post by: Swiftman on April 03, 2005, 07:55:06 pm
$5? I don't think so. It costs $20 canadian (16 american) to ship something like that to a city in the next province. Going across the border, through 4 states, then about 60 miles into Texas? 5 bucks for sure no.

($5 american is $7.25 Canadian, just so you know)
Title: Megaman Zero?
Post by: protoman on April 03, 2005, 11:38:12 pm
i still think it wouldn't be as expensive as you're thinking. ;P

There's about 5000 km between us two, Protoman. I'm positive it's not gonna be cheap.

I have the Remastered Soundtrack for Zero 3, so if you want it, send me a PM or IM and I'll send it your way

By the way, I'm new here\1

I have all three remastered albums.  I was going to upload them yesterday to balance out the three categories (Zero goes with X) but then I remembered my bandwidth's being saturated with BitTorrent and PS2 iso downloading....

Post by: Tetsuo9999 on April 19, 2005, 10:28:37 am
In that case, I suppose I could do it. How do I go about uploading it to the site?

I got my Battle & Chase, Complete Works 4-6, Mega Man Zero 4 (!!), and Network Transmission there.

Oh yeah, that was what I was gonna upload.  Mega Man Zero 4 line-in recording going up tonight :)

Zero 4 is out? NICE!! Now all I need is money! (I try to avoid playing the zero games through emulation. They're just not up to par with the original...)

Don't even BOTHER with Mega Man Zero 4 in emulation!  All the good GBA rom sites are shut down... amazingly, even my own elite source that I never dreamed would fail me....

Yeah, err, that MMZ4 recording's going up soon.  Just finished getting the PS2 ver of Mega Man X Command Mission via BT for some more direct extractions of music..

that it is. Emureactor is one of my 5 favorite sites to go to.
A small question: exactly what year did the N64 come out? I'm curious to know, cuz my family never delved much in video games other than my dos computer and an old Commondore 64.
