Beneath a Steel SKy is a SCUMM based game that is now freeware. I just started playing it and it's a blast. It takes place in the future and is pretty fricking aweseom. For those of you who don't know, the SCUMM games were a line of kickass games using the point and click adventure style of play. There was no battle system and there are no powerups. Typically there's not any real fighting at all. These kickass games include SEcret of Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones and teh Fate of Atlantis, and the absolutely awesomenessist of The Dig. Plus there's quite a few more. And I do believe I should be able to put BASS in there.
here's a synopsis straight from the readme.
You are
Robert Foster, an innocent outsider stranded in a vast city where oppressed
civilians live and work in soaring tower blocks... whilst the corrupt, covetous
and rich live underground, safe from all pollution. Alone, save for a robot
circuit board, Foster must fight for survival - and discover the sinister truth
behind both his own past and the city he has found himself trapped in
You can find it at:Ut seems you send it is not wanting to work. SO I guess you can google. it. I found it some site called Acid play/
And to run it you can get Scumm Vm at their websitehttp://www.scummcm.org[/url]

But you used the root beer to fight LeChuck.... and don't forget about insult sword fighting/arm wresting. (Okay, we can forget insult arm wrestling.)

Monkey Island OWN3D. Funniest game EVER. HANDS DOWN. It was wicked fun too.
I'll take a look at that game when I get home, Peaches. How big is it?
-
It's pretty damn big actually. Yet small at the same time. It's about 66 MB in the zip. PLus you'll need Scumm vm if you don't have it (which is pretty small)/
Speaking of which. Has anyone actually played The Dig here? It was awesome. The ambient music was on level with Metroid Prime (Which had the best atmosphere I've seen in almost any game).
The Dig is awesome. If you ever cahnce to play it, it's great. THe ending is a little cheesy and a cop-out, but it's the most serious game I've ever seen on SCUMM. And I think it's art. What I like about Point and Click games is it's like reading a book while watching the movie for it. THey're brillilant and should come back in huge sprite ariffic hand-drawn background glory.

The Dig is a serious game? *INTEREST LOST! *shot**
URL to screenies or somethun, Peachy? Me interest be peeking.
But no matter what
Monkey Island > All other point and clicks.

I happen to like the DIg -_-\

Oh, it's got voice acting, but there is a smaller voice=acting less version found at the scummvm download section. Also, it has this awesome comic book style intro.
anyways. I found where I downloaded from:

That game looks hardcore old.
-
Yeah, my biggest complaint is the music sucks. hardcore. It's bsically just a few synth notes going up and down in a not so cool fashion. What can I say, the only ones with good music were the Lucasarts games back then.
It's got a lot of good lines though. Like this guy and his clipboard. I just hope the plot doesn't fall through.
