1984 is an excellent book, I also highly recommend Crime and Punishment by Dosteovsky (spelling is probably wrong because it's a Russian name).

I never read the Tripod series, someone told me about it and I was like "WTF no." Besides, everyone knows that the 1984 book sucked. Good idea, bad execution. It was just too dry.

I'm sorry, Sophih, you posted an opinion, so I posted mine. Oh, but you know, the movie 1984 was awesome. I guess they changed the dialogue up, because it was a bit easier to watch than the book was to read.

Ohohkay. That's cool. I haven't read a real book since about a year ago when I read Flatland: A Romance of Dimensions. It's actually not the kind of romance you were thinking of, though.

HA! Nice timing with that pic, Lazlo.

And really, there's a girl at my school that's 5 feet tall and 400 pounds. True story.

haha nice

ive read Flatland also, it is rather thought provoking when you're thinking of more than 3 dimensions (not including time)

I thought 1984 was good, but Equilibrium does a better job portraying a society like that

I dare you to read Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse.  I dare you.

I think it's usually translated "Dostoievsky," Peaches.

Swiftman's biggest fault is that he's so modest, and never takes credit.

I've been reading Snowcraft now and then in small chunks, but it loses my interest now and then.  The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and all sequels thereto are very amusing.
