meh, i don't care where the money comes from; i'll take it. imagine hosting speed runs for sda from the server instead of from archive. downloads as fast as your connection can take, and free (to the user) forever. that's what we could do with an unlimited bandwidth server.

a "limitless" bandwidth server costs $100 a month?

I'm thinking that enough people would be interested in downloading to donate a bit.. if you made a PayPal account for donations, and, say, required each unique IP to donate at least $1 a month for direct downloads, wouldn't that solve a lot of trouble?

I gather that more than 100 people download anyways, and some people would be willing to donate more than just one dollar...

yea we could at least have the special server for 2-3 months, idk if people would KEEP donating though, unless we swarm them with emails and whatnot
