Who else remembers this awesome old show? I founda piec eof Inspector Gadget fanart on google and it triggered a nostalgic relapse for me. Check it:

I remember watching thsi show.... So long ago.... It was on first thing when I got off the bus after school. I just ran in the house, turned the TV on, switched to channel 13 and watched away, enraptured for the next 30 minutes. Whenever Kary was over, she did the same as me.
So, anyone else have fond memories of this awesome old show? Here're some clips to trigger some memories:

It was such a long time ago since I saw the cartoon. I always found it funny whenever the Chief blew himself up with one of those self-destructing messages.

Holy crap, that site is AWESOME! They have Transformers, Tintin, EVERYTHING! Oh, MAN! I'm getting fits here. I wanna make a topic on all of them! I loved Tintin! (everyone knows of me and transformers) I have all the Tintin books, and I remember watching the show before getting on the school bus in the morning. Damn, that show was PRIME! I'm getting orgasmic thinking about it! *shot*
I couldn't find a proper sized pic of Dr. Claw behind his chair and Madcat, so instead I made my new avatar Tintin.

Oh man, Inspector Gadget was one of my favorite cartoons ever! I, to this day, quote that show (did it today, even).

I once had a paint kinda program for Windows 3.1 that had a bunch of Inspector Gadget coloring books. Man... Best show ever.

Not the best show, but it's a dang close tie between it, Darkwing Duck and TalesSpin.

Aah, I wasn't even thinking about those! I can't believe my sister (who likes everthing I like) doesn't like TaleSpin... Man, I wish that show came on at... not 4 AM.

And Talespin was pure awesome... But, so Was Darkeing Duck, and Inspector Gadget. And Transformers was more awesome on top of that... Damn, those shows were great....

Cartoon Network doesn't show anything worth while except for Adult Swim. (Family Guy, Futurama, Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, and sometimes Mission Hill)

Nothing wrong with the Japanese style though, is there? I think seeing some good old cartoons redone in anime style is a great idea. I'd like to see it.

No, there's nothing wrong with that, but there's also plenty of good in American style, because there is no American style.

Yes, I guess so. I usually classify (swift does, anyways, and all experience of mine is based through him) That american style is like a Marvel or DC comic. It copies reality as much as possible, and has no sharp features and stuff. I don't know what he means, but I can see it.

Yeah, but that's all the same. Look at cartoons. Look at the Simpsons, at Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, Dexter's Lab, Doodlez, they all look different, and they all look great.

That is really a matter of different viewpoints and stetic sense Lazlo :) I surely like Simpsoms they way they are, but for most of others, I would prefer then redisigned, specially rugrats, dunno why but those rdistorted line arts makes me feel bad, so I avoid it O.O
Also some of the coartoons Ive mentioned had a cool design like Silver Hawns, but I can picture then in my head being yet better ;)
Also to note: anime has got quite a lot of diversity, just pick things from diferent authors :) There are FAR more differences between Gundam Wing and Pokemon character design than between Batman and X-Men :)
Dunno if you see my point, but depending on which things you compare, the results are different for both anime and cartoon ;)
But there is one thing one cant denny and this fanart shows it perfectly: When it comes to machines, anime owns everything! Just notice that any mecha series that comes from the occident (not just USA) is based off, ripped off or adapted from japanese stuff or yet had japanese guys in the team :) (Loot at battletech and Transformers).
And lastly, ocidental guys are going towards japanese style, even Marvel is messing with manga :)
Yet I think that there will always remain the cartoon stuff because of different stetic senses and viewpoints =^.^=

Nope. I've never seen Dr.Claw's face in the show, but I did in the movie. I don't think that really counts, though.

The movie doesn't count due to extreme levels of suckiness. The cartoon is the only Gadget I count.

I agree with Lazlo about the animation. Both Japanese and American have many different types, but I'd say most (of course not all) Japanese art is all in one style, with variations to it, while in America there are many styles, each also with their own variations. There are staples of anime, such as the eyes (if not in the males, 98% of the time in the females), but in America you can't find much common ground. Not that it really matters, we each enjoy animation for many reasons, including how its drawn, and we're each entitled to our own preferences. ...I hope.
