Post by: protoman on June 09, 2005, 06:02:07 pm: at the time that i did the original subjective analysis, i also tested a genesis 3, and it was very close to a genesis 2, iirc. i will have to get one somehow and add its results to the page eventually.

as for the gb stuff, i did a subjective test of those when i was doing the mm gb recordings, and the game boy player won. i guess i could do a page for those, as well, but imo it's not as big of a deal (the difference in quality is not as humongous as with the genesises).

Post by: protoman on June 09, 2005, 06:55:04 pm: yes. don't ask me how an ac powered device won, but it did. i guess maybe they've been cleaning up the circuitry with every release (putting things more into single ic's), and that keeps the noise down. probably the same reason the nomad sounds so good.

Post by: protoman on June 09, 2005, 07:54:08 pm: one would think, right? i mean, dc power would be cleaner than having to transform it, and then relying on the transformer to produce clean dc and not interfere with everything and its mother. that was my thinking, anyway.

It's to my understanding( FUZZY ) say that maybe there's too much electricty and it might make a minuet static sound like when the CD is playing with the VOL too loud inbetween tracks you hear a static sound. Right?
