Geez, it's like a ghost town, and not the cool ones that people still live in, only they're scared shitless of some badass outlaw, and hardly leave their homes, but the morbid ones, where nobody lives, and the buildings are slowly falling apart, and it smells like rotting wood.

My visits are becoming less frequent, (April was probably the last time I came around here) but I still check in every so often. I don't think TPH will ever truly be dead, it just twitches when you don't look.

two weeks from tomorrow it'll be twelve years old ... after that long it's easy enough to imagine it going on for another twelve.

Yeah, what sucks for me is that back in March I went to a lot of trouble and effort to rip the music from Mega Man X5 and X6 for someone who had requested it (extra long tracks, as I recall)--and after uploading them at last, I see that he still hasn't logged in since before I put them up.
A shame, that was my first ever rip too, and it went to waste. :'(

I highly doubt this place will ever truly be dead. Maybe it'll enter a state of suspended animation, or wheel around like the old man who just turned one hundred and twenty years old.

Isn't it? I should manually import favorites from AOL to IE more often. I'm more likely to click on old links that way, and then login to a comatose forum, and post in a topic I made six months ago. Come to think of it, if I hadn't decided to scour my AOL favs for any sites or forums that were still alive half a year ago, this topic wouldn't exist.

I only check the forums every 3-6 months if I feel like it. I just finished going through all my posts, and had a good chuckle.
