Cartoons / Re: This isn't a video game you're playing!
« on: August 27, 2007, 01:27:32 am »
Here's something that caught my eye...

When Mega Man said "This isn't a video game you're playing!" in the episode 'Ice Age', it got me to thinking...

There are many video games out there from and for Mega Man...

But what if someone were to make one that was TRUE to the TV series?
 :P

Y'know:  Mega Man and everyone else would be all buff, and you could attempt to grab the other robots' weapons, and Roll would provide side assistance, and you could call on Rush in any one of his vehicle forms, no matter what the level...you know, that sorta thing.
 :D

I'll be attending a school for 3D game-making soon. I was thinking that it would be awesome if I could make a game where you play as buff Mega Man in his realm, battling the evil Dr. Wily's robots in places from the show, like Kennedy International Airport, and Robosaurus Park, all while re-enacting events from each of the episodes.

That would SO rock, man. (Rock man HAH!!)

What do you guys think?

Yeah, that would be pretty cool.

I'd love to see this on the Virtual Console some day.

That would be awesome!

General Games / Recap of the party!

Well, I wanted to start the day off by playing the MM cartoon OST from start to finish, but I don't think my brother got out of bed until like 11 AM or 12 PM, so I started watching the cartoon. I wanted to watch all the episodes, but I didn't think I'd have time to watch all the episodes and do all this other stuff, so I watched these episodes:

The Beginning
Electric Nightmares
The Big Shake
Mega-Pinochio
Master of Disaster

Then I started the iTunes playlist, and listened to it, and left it on, so I could scrobble the playlist songs on last.fm, then I went upstairs and brought my iPod up with me to hang out with the few relatives that were visiting, and I had listened to the playlist on the iPod upstairs as it was being scrobbled. I didn't go into my room much until after everyone had gone. After everyone had left, I decided to watch three more MM episodes:

Campus Commandos
Bad Day At Peril Park
and Mega X

Apparently, I only got around to actually playing one MM game, which was the Game Boy version of Mega Man II. This was the first Mega Man game I ever beat, and I still remember that password for Wily's fortress way back from 1996, and I never had to refer to any sites or magazines or anything to get it. I've had it for all these years. Even if I have lost the piece of paper I had written it down on all the way back in 1996, I still know it like I know my own name. Since it's officially Friday, I plan to in several hours go to go to the Wal-Mart where I first discovered an MM item I'm STILL not ashamed to own 10 years later:here. And one of the best things about 2006 is that I FINALLY found it on tape. I bought two copies of the tape actually. One's still sealed in the shrinkwrap, and one is used. :) While I'm at Wal-Mart several hours from now, I also plan to pick up a Meat Loaf CD and I also plan to pick up Twisted Sister's Christmas album.

I remember hearing about how many songs sounded like Guns and roses songs in the Mega man X series. the one i know about was neon tigers theme in mmx3  was "My Michelle" and thats all i know about, and some of the bosses in mmx5 were named of from the members of G & R, is there any more songs like G&R or something familiar, to rock tunes or bands, i saw on a website, flash mans song is supposed to be a Metallica song, and thats all i know     :)

Yeah, one time I made up a fake MMX fighting game, and I made some of the Mavericks' win quotes lyrics from GN'R songs. I was also planning to do some kind of fanfic thing where Axle The Red, Duff McWhaller, Dark Dizzy, Izzy Glow, Grizzly Slash and Squid Adler are in a rock band (it was supposed to be like a Spinal Tap type of thing).

This game is mad fun! I love it. Very addictive, and a likeable cute wittle protagonist!!!! His name's Willy, and he has to rescue his GF from Mugsy in 5 stages. Willy uses a gun that fires a punching glove to fight his enemies. He also uses it to go higher when he can't jump high enough, and to swing from certain objects (this is obviously an element borrowed from Bionic Commando).

General Games / BIG "Classic" Mega Man party on Thanksgiving!
« on: November 12, 2006, 02:27:21 pm »
I'm gonna be having a big Classic MM party on Thanksgiving Day this month. I'm planning to play the MM soundtrack from start to finish, play MM2, MM6, and (maybe) MMII (only these three, because these were the only classic MM titles with in my household at the time), and also MM7 (even though I didn't own it, but I DID rent it), have a "Mega" music marathon on iTunes playing a playlist I made up consisting of music from MM1, 2, 6 and 7, plus songs from the artists on the soundtrack album (Skid Row, Sugar Ray, Mr. Big, etc), and some unrelated songs and artists just for like, I dunno, "Good Measure" I guess are the words I'm looking for. I hope this Thanksgiving will be a "Mega" event for me.  8)
Of course, I'm gonna actually celebrate "Thanksgiving" as well.

I've been checking this band out a bit lately. I've been afraid to check 'em out in the past, because of the song "Pull Me Under", and I was worried that they were satanists, but then when I heard their 3-disc live album "Live At Budokan", I realized "It's not so bad.". Then I later learned that the guitar player in the band was a Christian. After that I bought (not all at once) "Awake" (last week) and "Images And Words" (later today). I can see why so many people like them, because they ARE a great band. Of the three I've bought so far, I think "Awake" is my LEAST favorite. But LAB and Images And Words have excellent songs on them.

General Music / Primus!!!

I got their recent Greatest Hits collection today at Best Buy called "They Can't All Be Zingers", and the copies at Best Buy come with a bonus disc called "Extra Cheese", which features 4 tracks of the band playing live from Woodstock '94. Man, Les Claypool and his camp make some strange, crazy ass stuff.  8) I also have the CD "Riddles Are Abound Tonight" by Sausage, which is the original line up of Primus recording under a different name. Anyway, I don't think I've heard more than 4 songs of theirs. 2 of which were "DMV" and "My Name Is Mud", and I only heard the whole thing of the former.

According to wikipedia, Capcom DID develop the home versions, and they replaced the character voices from the arcade game with japanese voices that sound like them (why would they do that???). BTW, the kings of bad licensed games "Acclaim" distributed the home versions.
