Long story made short: this dude held a little contest about who could make the better sig.  He used PhotoShop, I used PhotoImpression (NOT the same thing, I assure you).

I pwned his ass.

He decides to show it to his "buddies".

Said "friends" proceed to slander it to high heaven (despite the fact that CJ SPECIFICALLY said it wasn't made in either PhotoShop OR MSPaint).

EW members defend my work.

Dude gets pissy and leaves forum.

I ban his ass for being a cowardly douche.  Everyone's happy.

General Games / details about new TRANSFORMERS movie game
« on: February 11, 2007, 04:55:40 pm »
Quote from: "Seibertron.COM"
Today at the Hasbro Preview at ToyFair we got to see a nice preview of the video game from Activision. Here are some items of interest:

- Game will be available on: PC, Wii, XBox 360, PS3, and PS2.
- There will be an Autobot Game and a Decepticon Game for Nintendo DS, supporting 4 way multi-play.
- PSP gets a version of the game (maybe different from all), but with 4 way Multi-Play.
- Wii will get special Wiimote functions, such as throwing things, steering, etc.
- You can play as 9 Autobots and Decepticons. Unplayable characters are going to be boss characters or other important charcters.
- There will be unlockable characters and possibly movie characters that don't appear in the movie (like Wreckage).
- There will be G1 references in the game.
- It has a full interactive environment where you can pick things up and throw it at the enemy...including a Burger King sign.
- Burger King and Pepsi references were in the game, so we know they are sponsors.
- As the robot you can punch, shoot, jump, transform at will and drive/fly around when you are in vehicle mode.
- Autotargeting will be available.
- For game play, it reminded me of Grand Theft Auto, where you can run around the city (perspective was similar to GTA). The steering of the vehicle looked well done, where you could oversteer around turns, etc. If you caused too much ruckus the police would come and the pedestrians would go around screaming, especially if you were in Robot Mode (so being in disguise is important). Pedestrian interaction was not completed yet, but we were hoping you could pick up people and thrown them...jthat was ust our suggestion. The ability to use both modes via transforming was very effective because you could get away quick if you were getting beat bad.
- Graphics were very good and very fluid, even on preproduction. Audio track we heard was a generic one for pre-production, but final game will have the movie score. Possibly the voices will be the same as in the movie. Cut scenses are being rendered by a company called Blur (how ironic) that won many awards for game CGI.
- Storyline is different based upon if you are an Autobot or a Decepticon, humans are part of the story, but not part of the game play. Because of the dual roles the Decepticons can win in this one.

Quote from: "Transformer World 2005"
- a Video trailer of the upcoming video game was shown, and then one of the guys played the demo version for us to watch. It looks fantastic!
- Game is done in a GTA like style. Large environments, 100% destructible, can transform limitless times
- Available on all platforms: PC, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, PS2, PSP, and 2 versions on DS
- DS will offer cooperative play, or competitive play over wireless connetion
- PSP will offer up to 4 player play
- Consoles are single-player
- beautiful graphics
- They are going to work in as many G1 unlockable content as they possibly can
- Working with Flint Dille for the G1 content, even got the models from Dreamworks!
- The Marvel Ultimate Alliance team is working on the CGI cutscenes
- When asked about VAs, told they couldnt' comment, but that we could speculate that the movie VAs would reprise their roles in the game
- Can play as ALL Movie characters and even non-movie characters that are movie-based
- Hasbro is working with them to try to make toys of these non-movie but movie-based characters!
- All Tranformers in the game will have individual melee and weapons attacks
- Can choose to be Autobots OR Decepticons, and the side you choose determines the game's endings.

This looks like it might actually not suck, which would be quite a feat for a licensed movie / Transformers-based game.

General Games / New MegaMan games?
« on: January 16, 2007, 01:41:29 pm »
So yeah, that World Hobby Fair thinger in Japan brings news / rumors / what-have-you of TWO new MegaMan games:

1) A possible sequel to Ryuusei no Rockman / MegaMan Star Force.  This is amusing, particularly because nobody outside of Japan's even gotten the FIRST ONE YET.

2) "Rockman ZX: Advent".  This one apparently ISN'T a rumor, which makes me giddy: ZX ranks as one of my favorite MM games.

DISCUSS, FWELS.

Segregation / lol ghost story
« on: January 13, 2007, 05:59:05 pm »
by me, Yami CJMErl.

Okay, here we go...

THE UNDEAD PSYCHO ZOMBIE FLESH-EATING ORANGUTAN THAT COMES BEARING FLAMETHROWER AND CHAINSAW AND AIMS TO DISEMBOWEL EVERYTHING IN ITS' PATH WITH MUCH BLOOD AND GORE AND UNECCESSARY VIOLENCE

(nice title, eh?)

SO there was this orangutan that used to live in a zoo, right?  And he gets this wierd mutant strain of...erm...EBLOA!  Yeah, that's it, ebola.  It causes the ape to die a violent death, bleeding from everyorifice and p00ping it's organs out of its' mouth.  After a very much long time clean-up and burial, the zookeepers though they'd have to get a new orangutan.

THEY WERE WRONG.

For this was, as I said, a MUTANT strain of the flu*EDIT*EBOLA, and it ressurrected the very same ape that it killed.  Not only that, but it made the thing WICKED smart--despite the fact that it shat its' old brain out of its' armpit*EDIT*MOUTH.  It wandered around the backroads of a small suburb, ripping out the guts of any unfortunate humans that came across it and feeding upon their rotting, pus-filled spleens (lol, spleens).  When it came to a local gun store, it ripped out the skull of the poor sucker sitting behind the counter and beat him to death with it.  It then took a chainsaw and flamethrower and began a terror-violent-gorefest-bloodbath killing spree upon the city next to the suburb, burtally killing any and all things in its' path with much bloodshed and flying body parts and screams of terror and fire until none remained alive.

It would have done this with each and every town it came across until the government's newest top-secret weapon was unleashed upon the hellish ruin that was the city--a squad of genetically engineered GIANT LONGCATS, who purged the city with fire and lazerbeams, destorying the great red ape and any who might have clung to life by whatever threads they had in the ruin.

Then Freddy Kreuger and Jason and the Swamp Thing and the ORLY Owl and Osama Bin Laden and Godzilla and that dude from the Saw movies and the Creature from the Black Lagoon and Megatron came and built a new city upon the ruins of the old world and they all lived happily ever after.

EDN.

General Games / Some new SSBB info
« on: November 03, 2006, 10:07:06 am »
So Japan is holding the new Nintendo World 2006 event, and one of the things featured there is a new trailer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.  Here's what new info can be gleaned out of it:

- Fox is now confirmed as returning for the third SSB game.

- One of Snake's special techniques is a close-range rocket launcher (which he uses to great effect against Pit in the trailer).

- New stages will include a Mario Kart DS-themed one (with Shy Guys racing through, a la SSBM Mute City), a Kid Icarus stage (heavenly setting, platforms crumble away to reveal clouds), a new Yoshi-themed stage (which seems to have day / night effects), anda new "outer space" stage (possibly StarFox themed?)

No new items (or, for that matter, NEW characters) were shown or revealed.

OK, not REALLY.  it's more of a "game design document", which is what the developers use to plot out what the game's gonna be like before they do any kind of programming.  Anyway, check it out:

FULL CHARACTER LISTING: (* denotes unlockable)
> CJMERL
  PERSONAL VEHICLE: Jet Thruster
SPECIAL SKILL: Rocket Tackle (firey speed boost that knocks around other racers)
BIO: The 2nd-in-command of the CJ-Byte Corp., and Hikarlibur (Champion of Light).  A noble, wise, and friendly being, CJ never hesiutates to help others whenever he can, though he detests injustice.  The accident that split Yami from him caused his body to become more mechanical than biological, but he has learned to grow from this, taking advantage of his new abilities.

> YAMI CJMERL
  PERSONAL VEHICLE: Shadow Chopper
SPECIAL SKILL: Yami Buster (mid-range energy shot attack)
BIO: CJMErl's Dark alternate, born from the deepest, darkest parts of his psyche.  Despite being rude, crude, lecherous, and brainless as a brick, he has his good points.  He is an expert n00bslayer, and boasts formidable strength and healing abilities.  However, he tends to take advantage of these abilities in unethical ways whenever he thinks he can get away with it.

> BYTE MAN
  PERSONAL VEHICLE: Bytemobile
SPECIAL SKILL: Brain Freeze (temporarily scrambles opponents' controls)
BIO: A robot created by Russian robotics professor Dr. Mikhail Cossak and based on the schematics of DLN-000, a.k.a. Proto Man.  Byte Man is the head C.E.O. of the CJ-Byte Corp, and leads his company with pride.  He is also the only known robot that can actually wield the powers of magick, due to an interdimensional incident that trapped an ancient mage inside his superstructure.

> TANK MAN *
  PERSONAL VEHICLE: Rolling Treads
  SPECIAL SKILL:
BIO: A tank-style robot also created by Dr. Cossack, Tank Man is Byte Man's "younger brother" of sorts.  2nd-in-command of the CJBC Security Force (Yami is his superior), Tank is possibly the ONLY being even MORE unstable and powerful than Yami, only without the libido.  He follows the rule of "shoot first, ask questions later", and rarely does he deviate from this ideal.

> ARGUS SWIFTMAN
  PERSONAL VEHICLE: Pyro-GX
SPECIAL SKILL: Afterburner (reusable [up to 5x] speed boost)
BIO: Founder of Swift Co. and creator of McQuarrie Orbital Station, he nonetheless enjoys a good race to break the monotony of his job.  He commands a crack team of technicians, a squad of top-gun starfighter pilots, and owns a large collection of multipurpose spacecraft and mechs.

> SUPEROPICON *
  PERSONAL VEHICLE: Super-Semi
SPECIAL SKILL: Long Haul (long-lasting speed boost, able to knock around smaller vehicles)
BIO: A wandering Cybertronian, he has spent the last nine million years traveling the universe.  He came across Earth, and instantly fell in love with the greenery of the planet.  He has since repainted and remodeled his body after a popular comic-book character, vowing to become Earth's guardian.

> MINION
  PERSONAL VEHICLE: Wheel Cycle
SPECIAL SKILL: Jump Strike (leaps out of vehicle to attack closest racer)
BIO: Long-time friend and second-in-command for Argus, he has been an instrumental person in the creation and operation of the McQuarrie Orbital Station, even though he is only twelve years old.  He is commonly seem using a six-armed exo-suit, made to closely resemble General Grevious, the villain from Star Wars III.  He also boasts an unusually high endurance and strength when outside his suit, the result of much physical training.

> LAZLO FALCONI
  PERSONAL VEHICLE: Blue Falconi
SPECIAL SKILL: Barrel Roll (deflects attacks if timed correctly, doesn't protect against track obstacles)
BIO: The owner, founder, and head of the mysterious Falconi Industries--a business partner of the CJ-Byte Corp. that, oddly, does not put out as many products as other companies.  A wealthy contributor to the F-Zero X Grand Prix, Lazlo's entire goal in life was to race--unfortunatly, he was never very good at it.  The CJ-Byte Corp Grand Prix seemed like his only way to prove himself on the track.  Hopefully, in his Blue Falcon mock-up, he can make it!

> KASAI FALCONI *
  PERSONAL VEHICLE:
  SPECIAL SKILL:

> ARGUS SWIFTMAN
INTRODUCTION: While relaxing onboard the Venus Orbital Station "McQuarrie", Argus Swiftman and his companion, Minion, get a special invitation e-mail: "Registration now being held for the CJ-BYTE CORPORATION WORLD GRAND PRIX!"  Always up for a good race (especially one that includes his pals at the CJ-Byte Corp.), he decides to enroll himself and Minion.  Meeting up with the others is a happy event, with much happy talk, fun reminiscing, and obligatory Yami abuse.  The day draws closer to the first race and, while on a stray trip to the bathroom, Minion is kidnapped...and replaced with a robotic copy, courtesy of the Seawolves--enemies of Argus Swiftman and McQuarrie as a whole.  Unaware of this heinous act, Argus and the others take their places on the day of the first race...

RACE 1: Finish in the top three!
  TRACK: CJ-Byte Corp. HQ
OPPONENTS: CJMErl, Yami CJMErl, Byte Man, Lazlo Falconi, Minion, Draconis

INTRODUCTION: Still hiding unseen by Argus or his firneds, the Seawolve's Minion-decoy nevertheless has one fatal flaw: unlike the genuine article, this copy cannot leave its' Exo-Suit, which--being Minion's #1 trademark--doesn't raise as much suspicion as expected by the Seawolves.  Therefore, the fiendish organization gives the robot its' next set of instructions: to eliminate Argus Swiftman and all those who are close to him...

RACE 2: Finish in the top three while staying ahead of Minion!
  TRACK: Central City 20XX
OPPONENTS: CJMErl, Yami CJMErl, Byte Man, Lazlo Falconi, Minion, Draconis

INTRODUCTION: Argus and his friends are alarmed at Minion's sudden aggressive behavior on the track.  The robot decoy attempts to cover up its' actions by claiming that he let his competitive streak get the better of him, but Swiftman and the others know better.  A quick restraning and full-body scan by CJMErl reveals that Minion isn't acting like himself because he isn't Minion at all.  The deception revealed, the fake Minion challenges Argus to a special race: One that doesn't end until one of the two is destroyed...

RACE 3: Beat the fake Minion!

As you all probably know, our Shield Sheldon hasn't been active around this forum for a while, three months to be exact. I really hate seeing members replaced(except for Haukura), but apparently, he's either forgot about us, or lost interest in the team scene. It may be time to consider a new Sheldon.

D00d, we need you back. :(
