You can probably find a forum for any interest with large enough a community if you really look for it.

While that's true, it'd be hard to find a forum pertaining to one specific interest that isn't divided amongst itself and not in the good 'adds to the discussion and isn't baseless flaming for some inane reason' way.

A Halo-esque Megaman MMO would be neat, but there would be a small chance that it could drive the final nail into the franchise's coffin. Battle Network and Starforce brought a bunch of repetitive sequels that picked up on a few story elements from the prequels making them great standalone games but not really establishing any sort of story short of "The world is in danger, use the internet/wave network to save it from *insert evil organization/god here*".

Classic established a timeline, a villain and an ongoing story and seems more like a single epic saga than a series of prequels and sequels. X serves as the sequel saga to Classic, Zero does the same for X and Classic, ZX does the same for Zero, X and Classic(not nearly as much but it still counts) and Legends has the potential to finish what has so far been 23 years in the making. Drastically changing the formula could kill the franchise(just look at Bomberman Act Zero) or breath new life into it. I don't think Capcom would risk it. They'd sooner crank out a bunch of mediocre games that still sell than make one that takes a huge step outside of the box they're comfortable in and may or may not fly off the shelves in record time and spawn sequels that may or may not become huge hits.

Well, there's an MMORPG in the works, and 2.5D platformer with a level creator and character customization option and the Megaman from the American box art for Megaman 2 is a playable character.

...Oh, Legends 3 has been announced for the upcoming Nintendo handheld; the 3DS.

Drifter still has a few different forums, though they'll never be MMtL

Wait, what? I thought he went all incognito and only used the internet for Youtube and porn, or something to that extent. I feel like such a backwoods hermit for not knowing that.

I don't know if you know or care, but the whole Echonet crew maintains some form of community on Deviantart.

That's the main reason I joined DA. My memory's fuzzy, but I think one of the forums was becoming less active and I made a half assed attempt to keep in touch, that or I joined to see more Sonikku Comikuu and keep up on the now dead podcast.

Yeah, it was in limbo for a year before I decided to make another attempt at get it going...then I lost interest again. I'll probably make another attempt in half a year or so. Go ahead and join if you want, I'm not gonna stop you.

Heh, EN. I think it finally died off completely. The funny thing is, now that it's been dead for a while I don't seem to care about it all that much. Sure, there were some awesome people and I'd join another community if they started one, I honestly don't care that it died. There was no new activity and I joined the most recent, now dead incarnation knowing it wouldn't last/be a shell of what CJF and EW were before the merge and what EN was for a brief time after the merge.

Though, if the Trinity of Evil and/or Megaman the Legend forums came back in some form nothing would keep me joining and actually being active instead of doing what I've been doing for about two years; popping in to play janitor for a dying community.

No, no it isn't. I'm bombarded with conflicting opinions about how I was still kinda new to internet communities four years back and had only learned 30-40 of the hundreds of internet laws and thus feel like a boob about some of my older posts, yet I relish the awesome moments I had and wide eyed wonder I used to view the internet with before I experienced my share of drama, some of it complete bullshit and some of it legit.

My nostalgia reminds of some good times, but also the multitude of people(at least I'm assuming they were all people) that I am no longer capable of interacting with due to them frequenting internet communities I have never heard of or not being active in any communities online. I miss the now dead forums I used to post at, and the dead sites. When I really get nostalgic I remember the sites I used to view when I was in Junior High. I also get all serious and post about how my nostalgia makes me feel.

Fucking twitter, myspace, livejournal and facebook replacing forums. Fucking brats that think they're the shit taking over the internet and flipping out when their opinions are challenged and instead of defending them in an intelligent manner, they just reword the post so it looks a bit different but really isn't.

All good things come to an end. Not sure how it all ended, but in the end it did. BTW did CJ ever finish that sprite comic where I was the villain with my fetus skull henchman?

I think this place just died.

I'm assuming CJ is knee deep in life soup right now. There was some forum drama, multiple re-locations and then the latest incarnation seems to have went belly up. That comic went belly up quite a while ago and then some others popped up in it's place; the latest being "Stick Figure Yami" which semi ended and then was revived: http://cjmerl.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2okhfp

Also, there was a podcast he co-hosted...that seems to be dead too.

I concur.

I've retired from being the badass who used common sense as a weapon against morons and became the lazy bastard who occasionally posts on DA, Wordpress, or may be found on MSN.

...*sobs* I miss the old days! I miss the old me! I'm too lazy to put any effort into establishing a niche on a new forum so people will know me well enough to back me up when I point out some moron's stupidity! TPH is a ghost town, MMTL is dead, ToE is Dead, My frail old forum is dead, EI is dead, CJF, EN, EW and SF are dead too! Oh, I had to try being nicer when I told off someone, I couldn't be blunt and harshly point out their flaws because that was too mean! I had to fucking try to better myself when I was already awesome!

...Now I've gone and depressed myself.

Indeed I could do that.

I remember that.  Nasty things, those keyboards.  You need to hook a neural typer into your helmet, like me.

It blew up and I had to consult a professional. I should have filmed the exorscism and sold it as a remake of the original film. Guess if I want to be rich I'll just have to rob a bank.

I mean really, how hard is it to put this URL into the favorites of your web browser and come around every once in awhile!

Well, what about finger cramps, laziness, and posessed keyboards? Just imagine if it was all three.

Coincidentally, my keyboard tried to kill me just as my fingers cramped up and I was being lazy everytime I tried to log on.
