Also, that was a great game that MGS2.  I never got a chance to get into the 3rd, sadly.  How was it?

Oh, it's great.

LEGENDARY.

Seriously, play it.  I was the same way.  For some reason, I waited two years to get it, and recently got it in March, when Subsistence came out.  I absolutley loved it.

Lazlo!  SuperY, and  Yamino!  And Jody!  You may not remeber me... but I remember you.  ::sunglasses flash::  (I DIG your avatar, by the way.)  I didn't expect you bunch to be here.  Thanks for the recommendation on MGS3!  If I still had a PlayStation nearby, I would definitely pick it up again.  I had to leave it behind this time, though, which is the main reason I didn't continue playing it.

MGS games are always like that, for me.  You master one, pick up the next, and think, "Hey, I owned that last game, this will be easy cheese."  But it's not.  It's a whole new game, and you look like a noob trying to sneak around breaking the guards' necks when they just do something new and funky to f u ^.  I enjoy that, though.  I always think, during those times, that man this game is too hard, but then one day I really sit down and go at it and it turns out to be awesome.

Konami wins!

...for now.

Haha, cool. And I do remember you! I was just before the time you posted regularly so I haven't gotten to be glorifed with your awesome that everyone speaks of. *Sniff*

Also MGS games are like, 'I SHOT YOU LOLZ!' games, of which I will always suck at. That and I'd probably get all freaked out if they're all spooky, because Resident Evil games freak me out hardcore.

Bullets are for wusses.  Unlike Solid Snake, real men like Big Boss use CQC.

Oh Jody you're missing out!  MGS isn't like a first-person shooter, if that's what you meant, and there is certainly no LoL'ing, because that would break the stealthy silence you must maintain in order to sneak upon or passed your enemies.

However, if you do accidentally lol, they will be on you like white on rice and that can sometimes be freakout-worthy.

...not that I ever freaked out.  No, Tiger maintains his calm at all times.

As for Resident Evil, the fourth one was an action game, and fun as hell.  But there was lots of lol'ing and shooting in it, so it might not be your cup of tea.  What, might I ask, IS your cup of tea?  Milk and sugar perhaps?

CQC rhymes with sissy.  Why, back in my day, we did CQC to pass the time during elementary school recess.  What we had to do on the streets, to protect ourselves, was BFG and KF.

Maybe one day I'll tell you all about it.

Also, in the spirit of Jody's flattery, I will be forced to make a full return to these forums, or whichever forums this group loiters about - though I must say, few entities are as grand as Protoman.

Resident Evil games ARE scary (Lazlo, you shall shut up if you know what's good for you) because I HATE zombies with a passion. Running around dark mansions only to get mauled by some freaky-ass zombie that's waiting for you around the corner is a little unnerving. And people keep saying "lol jodie the 4 one dont have no zombeyz". WELL YA KNOW WHAT, THEY HAVE DUDES WITH BAGS OVER THEIR HEADS TRYING TO CHOP ME UP WITH CHAINSAWS. BETTER THAN ZOMBIES? NOT REALLY!

Therefore, my cup of tea would be some RPG's, because I am, in fact, a total weiner.

Check that out boys, see what marvels I can achieve? You can thank me anytime. ;D

And @ SY: ... What's a CQC? >_> Your shoot-'em-up video game knowledge is completely wasted on me.

Urban dictionary, lol:

Quote from: "CURBIN DICTIONARY"
1.     CQC
   7 up, 1 down

Close-Quarters Combat

Same definition as CQB; it's a martial-arts inspired art of hand-to-hand combat. CQC can also be used when you have a flat knife and a handgun equipped at the same time.
The reason a flat knife (such as, say, a Colt Combat Commander) is recommended with a handgun is because, when you're equipped with both at once, and you're engaging in shootouts, you can rest the knife on the grip while holding the gun the way you should be to maintain capability (see gun control). Thus if you suddenly engage in proximity encounter, you can immediately switch between a handgun and a knife.

Basically, what Big Boss uses in MGS 3 to sneak up on someone, get them at knife point, and either kill them or slam them on the ground, knocking them unconscious.

Also, MGS is barely what you could call a shoot-em-up.  The only time you really need to shoot someone, especially when it comes to MGS 3, are the boss fights, sans Fortune and The Sorrow.  You learn later in MGS 3 that it's not really worth killing all those soldiers you chose to kill.

There is one section in MGS1, where you kinda have to engage in a huge shoot out, though.
