"Hey X," Zero said to X who was sitting on the repair shelf, waiting for Dr. Cain to finish the surprise ha said he had fon him. "How are you feeling now?"

"I'm fine," the blue reploid said with a grin in his face, "thanks anyway Zero."

While the two Hunters were having a small conversation, Dr. Cain was working in something kinda mysterious thing. Neither Zero nor X knew what Dr. Cain was working on in a special room that only Dr. Cain had access to.

"Zero, uh..." X replied to Zero. "Do you know what Dr. Cain has being doing in there?"

"Hey!! Don't ask me about it!" The crimson reploid said laughing at X. "I'm in the same situation as well"

Finally, Dr. Cain came out of the room with a tired look in his old eyes. Zero looked at him with a puzzled look in his face, as well as X did.

"Sorry guys," Dr. Cain said with a tired voice, "I couldn't finish it today. But don't worry, I'll have them ready for tomorrow night." X approached Dr. Cain placing his hand on the old scientist's shoulder. "Don't worry about it Doc. There had not been any problems in Earth Saver 1, so don't preasure yourself too much. OK?" X suggested as he left the room, going to his quarters.

"Thanks X." Dr. Cain said to himself, as the door closed behind X and Zero. " Thanks a lot."

"X!, X!" Zero called X while he was running behind him. Suddenly X turned around, "Woa! X get out of the way, I can't stop!" Zero warned X. The blue reploid quickly, amazingly quickly to be more accurate, jumped out of the way. THUD!!!

"Ouch! I think I was going a little fast" Zero excalimed while he rubbed his head. Then, both Hunters began to laugh.

Next day, "Zero! Zero!" X entered abruptly the crimson reploid's quarters "I can't find Dr. Cain! And I've already checked his room." Zero, in his usual calmed voice, said. "Did you checked his lab? You know he has been working there in our 'surprises' all week long after we beated Sigma for the last time."

"Uh... No, I haven't checked there yet." X remarked smiling at Zero as he entered the corridor to Dr. Cain's lab.

After a while, X reached the door to Dr. Cain's lab. "Dr. Cain? Are you in there?" X asked thruogh the microphone.

"Oh, yes X. I was working on your 'surprises'" Dr. Cain answered as he entered his password to open the lab's main door, but he hid the surprises in the capsule room.

"Oh, don't worry." X replied smiling at the scientist. "You'll finish it later. Now, let's go and eat some breakfast"

"Yeah, you are right X, let's..." Dr. Cain was interupted by a voice coming through X's visual communicator. "Atention! Atention! All Hunters show up at the Display Room. Red Code Alarm!"

"Sorry Doc, gotta go" X said as he met Zero outside the lab, and the door closed just behind him. "Let's go X" Zero hurried him.

In the Display Room... "What's wrong sir?" Zero asked Spade who was ready to display the video. "Zero, I've told you to call me Spade. But, going to what's first priority, it looks like another Maverick revolt has started!" Spade answered Zero as they took seat.

Suddenly, X shouted, "Look... Oh my God!"

"No! This can't be!" Zero exclaimed as he walked in circles in Spade's office. "He can't be still alive! We destroyed him, right X?"

"Zero... We surely did," X said sitting in front of Spade's desk, "but remember, everytime we destroyed him, he would come back, again and again."

"Zero, X is right." Spade said as he stood from his chair. "You've tried everything, you destroyed his body, you destroyed the main computer and you entered a Sigma-virus vaccine. And none of those worked against him."

"I don't care!" Zero shouted desperately. "Come on X. Let's kick some Maverick butt!"

"Right!" X agreed standing up. "This will be the last time, I'll make it for sure!"

So, X called Dr. Cain through his wrist communicator. "Dr. Cain, get the capsules ready, we're going into action!"

Minutes later, X and Zero entered the lab and went right to the capsule room. But, "X, Zero, I've got something to tell you about your armors" Dr. Cain said to the furious Hunters.

"What's wrong?" X asked giving the scientist a doubtful look.

"Oh, nothing's wrong, by the contrary, I've just finished some new upgrades for both of you." Dr. Cain said to the two astonished reploids. Then he explained X first. "X, with your new boot upgrade you'll be able to air-dash in diagonal. Your new armor will allow you to run plasma currents, just like your old armor, but with this, you can charge that current and shoot it as a powerful plasma beam, and your repair systems are much faster."

X was impressed. "But..."

"X. please let me finish." Dr. Cain scolded him. "Your new X-buster is almost the same as your current one, but now you have your own Beam Saber, and it can interact with Zero's one. You'll better keep your helmet, its better than the one I've got here right now" And so, X entered his capsule, when he stood out of it, he looked quite different.

"Wow!" X exclaimed. "But, what's going on with Zero?" He asked like a worried father.

"Don't worry X, I've got something for him too" Dr. Cain answered as he turned over to Zero. "Zero, enter your capsule please"

"OK Doctor" Zero replied. When he got out of it, Zero was just astonished, "Hey Doc, this new armor is cool. What can it do?"

"Zero," X took the initiative to Dr. Cain, "Dr. Cain explained me about your new body. Now you are as powerful as me with upgrades! Remember your first Beam Saber?"

"Uh... Yeah!" Zero answered.

"Well, your new Saber, instead of slashing the air, it slashes everything in front of you. Your new Zero-buster doesn't vary much from your old one, it's just more powerful. Now, your boots allow you to dash twice in the air, just like my old ones. With your new body-armor you can concentrate plasma energy in your hands and shoot it in a plasma beam or hit something with your hands. And your new helmet, makes you able to locate enemies with an infrared visor." X finally finished explaining Zero all the things he could do. And Zero looked very impressed.

"Now," Dr. Cain explained, "I've installed a new chip to your bodies, and when your physical and mental energy come into a balance, you'll be able to activate new powers. These powers activate some upgrades, but those ain't new, they just increase your current ones." Dr. Cain directed to X. "X, you'll use the Hyper power. And Zero, you'll use the Omega power" Dr. Cain finished explaining the new power and said good-bye, "Good luck Hunters..."

In the moment X and Zero stood out of the building, they were received by an army of mavericks incluiding Sting Chameleon and Magna Centepede. A terrible battle started outside the Maverick Hunters HQ. X and Zero were surrounded by 100 or so repliods with their arm-cannons charged up and ready to fire. X engaged his new X-Saber as well as Zero did with his Zero-Saber.

"OK X." Zero remarked X as they stood back-to-back. "Let's kick some Maverick butt."

As Zero finished saying that, X was already slashing three repliods in half with one blow of his X-Saber. "Pitty," X said to himself. "I thought it would be harder than this."

In a few minutes, the only reps standing were X and Zero. The ground was covered with half-slashed reploids. Suddenly, someone shot the ground were the two Hunters were satnding. Zero avoided the plasma shot with an air-dash, and X with back-flip. As X landed softly on the ground, he saw a familiar silhouette in the darkness.

"Good work Hunters." Sigma said laughing at the two hunters. "I see that Dr. Cain has been working on both of you."

"Sigma!!!" Zero shouted as he shot three plasma shots to the shadows. " We knew you would come back!!!"

"Ha, ha, ha!" Sigma laughed loud at Zero as he missed for a few meters. "I'm far much faster than my previous forms. You cannot get me this time, but I will!"

X, who was at the opposite side of the hole, shot a level 3 shot to sigma, and for his luck, it made full contact on him.

"AARRRGGGHHH" Sigma screamed in pain. "We'll... meet... again..." And just after he finished saying that, he transported away.

"We've got to go after him!" Zero said with anger. "The only way to get through his defense is to send the whole 17th."

"Zero," Spade said calmly. "it's too riskful to send the whole 17th, this place would be almost defenseless. Not even the Zero Special Unit would be able to stop a mass attack."

"He's right Zero," X replied to his partner, "we've got to do it alone."

"Yeah, right!" Zero remarked, "And then, get killed without even touch Sigma."

"There's no choice Zero, wake up!" X shouted at Zero with anger "We have done that before!"

"Ahhh, OK" Zero finally accepted.

So, everything was ready to begin the riskiest mission in their life. "Atention Unit" Zero ordered to his unit, "I'm going on a special mission with Hunter X, so while I'm out, Jex will take command of the unit." and X did the same. "!7th Unit of Maverick Hunters, I'm going to a secret mission, from which I might not come back, so in the time I'll be out, Protoman will take charge, and remain if I don't come back." So, X and Zero said, what for them was, their last good-bye.

And so, X and Zero ran to Sigma's fortress in the noreast of Earth Saver 1, as it said the tracer-map. They tried not to make too much noise so they could take Sigma by surprise, but they didn't know that Sigma was watching.

"Ha, ha, ha. You fools," Sigma said laughing as he watched the Hunters approach the main entrance, "you thought you could trick on me. You don't even know your walking into a trap!"

"X...X!" Zero said X. "This is way too easy, I think we're walking into a trap!"

"I've already thinked about it." The blue hunter answered. "But, what can we do about it?" X smiled.

"How can you smile in such a mission. This, more than a mission, is a suicide!" The crimson reploid said furiously.

"I know," X said as if he was safe at HQ, "but we're already here, so, why worrying more about it. Just relax until we start the real battle."

"You're nuts, but what the..."

The Hunter's conversation was cut-off by a plasma burst that hit right in X feet. "Woa!" X exclaimed. "Zero get ready, we are under attack!"

"I know!" Zero engaged his Zero-Saber and slashed some Mavricks in half, while X shot his X-buster at level 4 to a horde of 10 or so reps. With that shot, all the Mavericks exploded. "Cool!" X said to no one in particular."

"Hum... I see that you're in the best conditions ever. "But that's gonna change soon X, pretty soon. Ha, ha, ha!!!"

After a fierce battle outside of Sigma's fortress, X and Zero defeated a horde of 200 or so Mavericks with minimal damage adn entered the fortress. They walked into hundreds of corridors like in a maze and finally found Sigma.

Meanwhile, in HQ, Spade was preparing a second attack team. "Now, you must understand that this is a difficult mission, and some of you might not return." Spade explained the Hunters in the room. "Our mission is to penetrate Sigma's fortress and find the two lone Hunters who went in mission: Direct Attack, and destroy Sigma. I don't want you to go against your own will, so, volunteers stand up!." Inmediately, all the Hunters stood up. "OK Hunters, let's go!"

Back at Sigma's fortress...

"Ah X, I've been waiting for you." Sigma said in his usul evil voice. "Welcome Zero."

"Don't play the 'good guy' with me Sigma!" Zero shouted to the smiling reploid. "We came here to finish this war against humans once and for all!" Zero aimed his Zero-buster at Sigma's face, but Sigma grabbed Zero's arm.

"Zero, don't be a fool, both of you should follow me!" Sigma said as he let go Zero's arm. "Just watch this video."

X gave the crimson reploid a doubtful look as they started watching the so-called video.

"Listen," Sigma explained, "since humans took control of the Earth, peace has never been reached..." Sigma continued.

"Psst, Zero," X muttered, "I think he's got a point."

I've tried to bring peace to the Earth." Sigma said as Zero muttered back to X, "Yeah, right!" Zero said sarcasticly.

"But you always stop me!" Sigma continued. "Now, let's join forces and bring peace for once and for all. What do you say?" Sigma looked at the Hunters.

"Uh..." Zero began to talk. "I..."

"I don't think so, Sigma!" Zero fired plasma shots, but Sigma avoided them easily.

"You fool! You had the chance to rule the world with me!" Sigma fired his Plasma Shock and hit Zero. The crimson reploid felt thousand of volts run through his body. He got seriously damaged and felt unconcious to the ground.

"You... You." X was furious against Sigma, he wiped some tears from his eyes and charged his X-buster.

"X, don't be such fool like Zero. Join me, or you will end like him!" Sigma threatened X. "Accept or die!"

"Wait... X..." Zero said as he tried to to get on his feet. "He's much more powerful than before, even with our new upgrades, he's more than a match for us. Hurry X, run away! Run away!" Zero shouted X.

"Zero..." X said as he prepared to fire, "I'll never run away, never!"

"Zero, shut up!" Sigma prepared his Plasma Explosion. "You denied my proposal of ilimited power two times, but this will be the last time! Die Zero!" Sigma fired at Zero and made full contact.

"X... good-bye...AARRGGHHHH" Zero cried in pain, and then, remained motionless.

"Zero! Zero!" X cried in despair as he realized that his partner was dead. "You, You!... You killed him Sigma! And you'll pay for that!" X engaged his X-Saber adn attacked Sigma, but Sigma also engaged his Saber and blocked X's attack. Sigma also attacked X, but avoided it easily. After a while, Sigma deactivated his Sigma-Saber and fired at X with his Plasma Explosion, making a loud noise when X fell on the metal floor.

"Zero...Zero..." X thought as he tried to regain power to stand up. His energy began to gain balance. Suddenly, X felt how a new energy filled his body.

"Ha, ha, ha. X, you are such a fool. You should have joined me." Sigma said to X's motionless body, thinking that he was dead.

Meanwhile...

"Dr. Cain! Dr. Cain!" Dr. Trerson entered abruptly the the lab. "I think we've got some trouble!"

"What? What's wrong?" Dr. Cain asked worried. "Is it something about X and Zero?"

"Uh... I fear so..." Dr. Trerson answered with pitty. "It looks like they've got real trouble. Spade contacted me when he saw beams of light come out of Sigma's fortress."

"Damn it! I'm not finished with the Assault Pets yet!" Dr. Cain replied. "The only thing we can do is to continue the pets."

"Yeah!" Dr. Trerson exclaimed excitely. "Let's get to work!"

Now, back at Sigma's fortress, X had stood up! "No! This can't be!" Sigma shouted when he saw X standing up. "How could you take my Plasma Explosion??!! No one ever could!"

"If you hadn't killed Zero, my anger wouldn't helped activate the Hyper Power asleep in my body! That helped recover my energy, and now you will die!" X shouted to the astonished Maverick. Suddenly, X power crystal in his forehead began shinning! And then, five beams of light came out of it and raised to the sky. The beams of light transformed themselves into Armor-Parts, which came and joined X's body; but the last beam joined X's Saber, and it turned on blue fire! "This will be the last battle Sigma!"

Sigma prepared his Plasma Explosion once again and fired it at X. But when the attack striked him, he didn't feel it a bit! "That's the best you can do?"

Suddenly, Sigma's new Hunter Dog appeared and joined Sigma, making him even more powerful! Sigma and X continued fighting with their different weapons, but Sigma had tha advantage.

"He's quite powerful, I must defeat him now!" Just then, X remembered what Dr. Cain said. "Your new Saber can interact with Zero's one."

"That's it!" X ran to Zero's motionless body and took his Saber. He felt a strange power between the two Sabers. "What the heck??!!" Suddenly, both Sabers combined together, the Saber's fire turned from blue to red. "Wow! This is cool!" X exclaimed to himself. Then, he jumped toward Sigma and slashed Sigma's Saber in half!

"How, how could you do this?!" Sigma said astonished by X's power. "Now, you've made me use this! Prepare to die X!"

Sigma fired his Plasma Thunder. "X, no one ever made me use this weapon, you'll de the first and last!"

X tried to block the powerful attack with his Beam Saber, but it slipped from his hands, and the attack striked his chest, damaging him. X stood up once again. "You'll never defeat me! If I die, I'll take you with me!" X replied as he charged his Plasma Beam and fired. Sigma easily blocked it with his Plasma Thunder. And after breaking up the attack, he fired again against X, and hit him on his chest once again! "I...must...resist!" He opened his wridt compartment, looking for the button that activated his Sub-Tank, but before finding it, he found a new button. "Uh... What is this?" X wondered. "Well, y Dr. Cain added it, it must be something good. I'll try it anyway." And so, X pressed the strange button.

Back at HQ...

"What the h...?" Dr. Cain exclaimed as he watched the Assault Hawk 'waking up'.

"Computer activated, frequency contacted." the metal hawk said and got out of the room through the dome.

"Ha, now you eralize that you cannot defeat me!" Sigma laughed at X as he tried to stand up.

BOOOM

"What is this?" Sigma said as he saw a strange shinning hawk get into the room. "It doesn't matter X, I'll destroy you anyway."

Suddenly, the mysterious hawk shot Sigma on the leg. The reploid screamed in pain as he saw the hawk land next to X. X, with curiousity, patted the hawk on it's head, adn then pressed the button again. Inmediately, the hawk got X by his back, and joined his body as if it was part of him.

"Cool." X said surprised by the change. "I feel lighter than before..." X began flying before he could finish talking. "Now, where were we?" X asked sarcasticly. Sigma stood up and attacked X, taking him by surprise. X tried everything he had on Sigma, but he stood up again and again. "If this is the only way..." X made the hawk go away.

"X, are you crazy?" Sigma smiled with evil. "You've abandoned your only chance to survive. This will be your last fight X!"

"Maybe so, but I'm sure I won't go alone." X replied to the Maverick in front of him. X began throwing his systems to overload and aimed his arm-cannon at Sigma.

"This way!" Jex shouted as he ran through the main corridor, followed by the assault team. "I think I've got them!"

"OK" Spade said as he ran behind Jex, "Let's go and find them.!"

"Computer, prepare the Plasma Destruction." Sigma said through a little microphone, which came out of his helmet. "Aim... Prepare to fire, start regressive count. 5, 4, 3, 2..."

"I must wait for the excact moment" X thought as he watched Sigma prepare to fire at him. "I'll wait until he fires."

"1, FIRE!" Sigma ordered as a powerful plasma shot crossed the air toward X. "This, is my last weapon, the most powerful of all. It doesn't matter how powerful you are, you won't be able to resist it!"

The plasma shot hit X in his chest. X fell on his knees and shouted, "NOW!" X shot his Plasma Beam at overload level. The powerful beam drew the last amount of 'life' that kept X alive after the strong fight.

"Noooo, how... how could you do this?" Sigma said as the beam hit his chest. "Nooo, this can't be, you can't defeat me again!!! AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!" Sigma screamed in pain as he began to explode.

Just after that, the second assault team bursted the door and entered the room abruptly. "X, X!!!" Proto shouted as he hold his brother's motionless body. "You knew this could happen! But you decided to come anyway, and I didn't stop you!!! I'm such a fool!!!"

Spade instlled the new Sigma Virus vaccine into the main computer. Then, he placed a Plasma Megabomb. "OK Hunters, we've got 15 seconds to get our butts outta here, let's run!" Jex and Proto Man carried the dead bodies as they ran through the same corridor they used to enter. They walked back to HQ as Sigma's fortress exploded behind them for, what they hoped, would be the last time.

"It would be wonderful to have X and Zero watching this..." Proto Man said sadly as they walked away. "But I swear you won't be forgotten!"

In HQ, all the Hunters, including the maximum authorities, cried for their lost Hunters, the best. They were sealed in Honor Capsules, to remind all the Squadrons, what friendship and self-sacrifice means...

"I can't believe the best Hunters in HQ are dead." a rookie replied to his partner as they walked through the main corridor where the capsule had been placed. "It have been two years since that, and the revolt is still on!"

Outside HQ, the war has not stopped yet. It looks like another Maverick leader arose to power. A mass attack was striking HQ, the 17th Unit and the Zero Special Class Unit were defending HQ.

"17th Unit," Proto said to his squadron, "I'm going to find out who the new leader is. Cover me!!!"

"Yes sir!" the whole 17th responded.

"Hey Proto, you can't leave me here." Jex said as he heard Proto Man was going on an undercover mission. "I'll go with you!"

"Uhhh... I don't know Jex." Proto answered as he met his friend. "OK. Let's go!"

And so, the two hunters departed into an undercover mission, using digital camouflage to hide their arm-cannons and everything that might tell the enemy their Maverick Hunters. Soon they found a small Maverick group. "Alright Jex. Let's attack and find out who is leading them." Proto muttered.

The mavericks were walking worryless when suddenly, a plasma shot hit the ground where they were standing on. "What the...!!!" one of th reps said as he saw two Hunters approaching with thir arm-cannons ready. "Fire, fire. Destroy those hunters!" All the mavericks fired, but Proto used his Protoshield to cover. Jex engaged his Beam Saber and slashed five of the 10 mavericks in half. Proto blew away four of the five he was fighting with, and grabbed the last one.

"OK wise guy." Proto said to the trapped reploid. "Who is your leader?" The reploid didn't answer. "Answer me you piece of scrap metal, or he will cut your junk head of your body!" Proto pointed at Jex, who was ready with his Saber.

"OK... OK... I'll tell you everything you want." The frightened reploid answered trembling. "What do you want to know?"

"Who is your new leader?!" Jex asked furiously. "Tell me his name!!!"

"OK, OK" The reploid answered. "Our new leader is... Vile!"

"What???!!!" Proto and Jex asked simutaneously with surprise. "Vile???!!! How... How could he be still alive? He was destroyed by X and Zero years ago! Answer me, NOW!!!" Proto shook the Maverick fiercefully.

"I... I... don't know." The reploid started trembling again. "I just know that he's alive somehow."

"Well, he won't be for long!" Jex thightened his muscles. "He won't..."

"All right Proto," Spade answered Proto Man's request for a new attack at Sigma's fortress where Vile is. "you and Jex can go. But please, take some Hunters with you. I don't want to lose you too."

"Right sir!" Proto Man said as the door slid opened in front of him. "And, don't worry, we'll be back."

"I hope so, Proto." Spade said to himself just after the door closed behind Proto Man.

"OK guys," Proto Man said the two units, "I want 10 voluntieers to go with Jex and me on a direct attempt of assasination on Vile." Inmediately, 10 Hunters stood up. "OK, let's go!"

Now, on Sigma's fortress, Vile was preparing his army to attack HQ. "All right you bunch of scrap metal reps! We're going to attack HQ in 10 minutes! And we will destroy the Hunters, I won't fail like that stupid Sigma!" Suddenly, a powerful plasma beam stroke Vile in his shoulder, Vile fell to his knees crying in pain.

"You fool, you thought you could take my place..." A mysterious voice came from the shadows. "Now, I'm back once again!"

The Assault Unit lead by Proto Man and Jex has already left HQ. "Listen everybody, we'll reach the target in 15 minutes, so get ready!"

Back at HQ, CRRRAAAASSSSHHHHH. The sound of broken glass made all the Hunters tremble. "Atention. Atention. Two intruders have been detected in Sector G-6, all Hunters go anmd check the area." A horde of reploids ran through the corridor toward Sector G-6. BOOOOOMMM When the Hunters got to the exact point, the only thing they found was a big whol in the ceiling... And the two capsule broken apart with all the pieces crystal scattered around the floor.

In the middle of the night, two shadows ran through the city with northeast direction. "Don't let them get away!" The Hunters who ran behind them shouted. "Get them, they've got the bodies!" Soon, the shadows reached the Assault Team.

"Wait!" Proto said when he heard all the riot. "What's going on?" Jex listened carefully to the Hunters.

"Those guys running toward us have got the bodies. Hunters, prepare to attack!" All the Hunters in the Assault team charged their arm-cannons and prepared to fire. "Wait... FIRE!!!" Jex ordered, and all the Hunters fired at the same time. All the shots joined together and formed a powerful plasma ball. The shot made contact... But at the astonished eyes of the Hunters, the shadows didn't even stop!!! "What the...??? Are they inmortal or what!!!" Jex replied as he saw the two mysterious guys running toward them.

"What???!!!" Proto exclaimed as he saw nothing pass beside them, except for two light beams, a white and a red one!

The two mysterious reploids continued running toward Sigma's fortress without stopping. "All right, it time for his death!" One of the reploids said as they ran faster and faster in an average of 60 to 65 miles per hour.

"Yeah!" The other rep answered with entusiasm. "You're right, it's time for the end!"

By the time the Assault Team reached Sigma's fortress, the two reploids has already disappeared. "OK, it's time to enter the fortress! Right guys?" Proto Man asked as they burst into the fortress through the main door.

"Yes, sir!" the squadron answered with joy.

Soon the Hunters reached the fortress computer room. "All right, we're in the computer room. Vile must be in there." The Hunters blew the door away, and when the smoke dispersed, they saw a known figure behind in front of a computer console.

"Welcome Hunters, I didn't expect you so soon." Vile replied to the Hunters that were standing in front of him. "And this will be the last place you'll see in your pityful lives!"

"I don't think so Vile!" Jex exclaimed as he engaged his Beam Saber. Jex suddenly started running toward Vile and slashed his arm off with a single blow of his Saber.

"ARRRGGGGHHHH" Vile screamed in pain as he held his arm. "You'll pay for this Jex!"

"Uh! Yeah, right Vile!" Jex said sarcasticly. "And now, the final blow!" Jex made another blow with his Saber, and cut Vile in half! The only thing Jex did was smile as he watched Vile exploding into little pieces of metal.

"Uh, what's that noise?" Proto Man asked to himself. "Jex! Watch out!" Proto Man ran to Jex and stood in front of him, using his ProtoShield as a protection. A plasma beam was shot from the shadows, the plasma made full contact on the ProtoShield. "What the..." As Proto watched astonished, his Shield exploded and the residual energy of the beam hit Proto on his chest. Proto fell to the floor with an ugh.

"And you call yourselves Maverick Hunters??!!!" A strange voice exclaimed from the shadows. "Your not even the tenth of what X and Zero were... When they were alive! Ha, ha, ha!" Suddenly, from the shadows, a strange Maverick came out from the shadows. "Welcome, I'm Sigma!"

"What???!!! Sigma!!!" Proto replied as he got on his feet. "We've got to finish this here and now Jex!"

"Count on me Proto!" Jex exclaimed as he charged his arm-cannon. "This must end now!"

"Don't be so fool!" Sigma said to Jex. "You can't defeat me, Zero didn't even touch me!" Sigma prepared his Plasma Shock and aimed at Jex. "Now die you fool Hunter!" Sigma fired his Plasma Shock. The plasma beam flew directly to Jex's position, but suddenly, a reploid in a shining red armor, stood in front of Jex and caught the plasma beam with one hand. "What? Who are you?" Jex asked to the mysterious reploid. The reploid didn't answer. Suddenly, a plasma burst came from the shadows and hit Sigma on his arm, making it explode. "AARRRRGGGGHHHHH" Sigma cried in pain. "Who, who are you? Answer me!"

"Sigma..." a strange reploid said as he emerged from the shadows covered with a white cape... "I don't think we need any presentation." The reploid said as he stood next to his mysterious partner.

"Stop interfering with official missions!" Proto Man replied to the two reploids satnding in front of them. "Get out of the way, NOW!" Proto began running toward Sigma.

"I can't believe it." The white reploid said to his partner. "I'm gone for a while, and others get delusions of grandeur. Stop now you rookie hunter, let this problems to the experienced reploids."

"What?" Jex's thoughts resounded in his head. "The only one that talked to Proto like that was X!" Jex opened his mouth, "X! Is that you?"

"What are you sayig Jex?!" Proto asked the astonished hunter as he looked closely at the white reploid. "No, he's dead!"

"What a shame." The white reploid said as he looked at Proto, "You don't recognize your own brother."

"What??!! What are you saying??!!" Proto exclaimed furiously, "You cant be X!"

"Uh," the red reploid finally began to speak. "You don't recognize him, do you? Hey X, why don't you take off that cape?"

"Yeah, its begining to get hot here." The white reploid said as he took off the cape, revealing a shining white armor. "Hi ev'rybody, I'm back."

"What??!!" Sigma exclaimed surprised as he looked at the reborn Hunters. "I must destroy you again! And after you, the other Hunters!" Sigma prepared his Plasma Explosion. "Now, have my Plasma Explosion and die!"

"I don't think so Sigma" The plasma beam flew toward the Hunters, but X caught it with his bare hands! "Proto, Jex, get out of here, NOW!"

"No X, we won't lose you again." Proto denied the chance to escape. "We will fight with you!"

"NO!" Zero replied. "If you won't get out of here, X and me will do it!" X and Zero created a kinda magnetic bubble around the Assault Team and took it out of the fortress. The bubble landed outside the fortress, and suddenly, the fortress vanished!

"NOOO!" Proto cried as he saw the fortress vanish wih his own eyes. "Please, not again!"

"Hurray for X and Zero!" Proto yelled to the 17th Squad. "Hurray!"

"Hey guys, this isn't necessary." X replied modestly. "Uh, where... where's Zero?" X asked to himself. X began looking all around the room for Zero, finally, he found him looking through the window. "Hi Zero, what's it you're thinking?" X asked to the crimson reploid. Zero looked at X with a worried look in his face.

"X... When we left Sigma's fortress, I had a strange feeling." Zero continued, X listened carefully. "Somehow, I know this has not finished yet."

"But... Zero, what are you talking about?" X asked his partner even more confused than before. "We destroyed Sigma. Who could probably take his place?"

In the abandoned warehouse, at the limits of Earth Saver 1, a strange being was beginning to upgrade some old robots, too short for reploids, but with a deadly appearance. The robots were, appartently, about 40 to 60 years old, but were in good conditions. "Now, awake my creations." A voice with a remarked german accent said as the robots began awaking. "Soon, zee world out there shall know my power!"

Back at HQ. "Oh, come on Zero!" X said to his friend. "You've got to relax, take a good rest." X suggested Zero, who was smiling for the first time since they got back from Sigma's fortress. "You've had a lot of pressure. It's late now, let's go to our quarters and rest, OK?"

"OK, X" Zero responded. "Maybe it's nothing, maybe it's just my imagination." Zero, X, and the rest of the Hunters went to their respective rooms to sleep. But not all of them could sleep very well... Zero began having strange nightmares. He imagined an old man, with a lab coat, making some arrangements to him and saying: "You, my last creation, will rule the whole world. Nothing shall interfere, and if someone does, you'll destroy him." The old man laughed, as he locked him in a strange capsule, and then, everything went black.

"What was that?" Zero asked to himself as sit on his bed, sweating (yes, sweating, by that time, reploid could sweat). "It doesn't matter, got to get some sleep." And so, Zero went to sleep.

A month after that, a new rookie group graduated. There were two female reploids who had the tallest averages. "Wow!" A female reploid with long blod hair exclaimed to her friend as the group was divided and assigned to different squadrons. Her name was Diane.

"Uh... What's in your mind Diane?" Another female Hunter asked curiously to her partner. She was fair skinned, and had long black hair grabbed into a pony tail. "No, let me guess. You're day-dreaming again about the Hunter Squadron you want to be in, right?" Liz asked.

"Well, not exactly." Diane answered in a very happy voice tone. "Commander Spade just gave me the squadron we are going to be in."

"All right, all right. Which is our new squadron?" Liz asked without any emotion. She had always dreamed to be in the 17th squadron, but she knew that it was just for the best Hunters in Earth Saver.

"You will not believe this. Bet ya' won't!" Diane was getting really excited. "OK, Spade assigned us to the... 17th Hunter Squadron!"

"What??!!" Liz was astonished, she was almost crying of joy. Both Huntresses began jumping in happiness.

"Tomorrow, Spade is going to introduce us to the members of the 17th." Diane told Liz as she walked to her quarters.

Next day, at the 17th Unit's Room, Coordinator Spade was going to introduce Diane and Liz to the 17th Unit, but someone was missing. "Proto, where's your unit commander?" Spade asked in his usual, but still fearful, voice.

"Who is the unit commander of the 17th Unit?" Diane asked Spade curiously. "We enlisted to the Hunter Training, but we don't know anything about the Hunters in HQ."

"So, it will be a surprise." Spade answered her as he looked for X. Finally, the main door opened. But it wasn't X, it was Zero.

"Is he the commander?" Liz asked excited. "He's so handsome."

"Not of the 17th Unit. His name is Zero, and he's the commander of the Zero Class Special Unit." Spade was beginning to get mad.

"Don't worry sir." Zero said. "He'll be here at any minute, he's just finishing up some Mavericks he found outside HQ." The main door opened once again, revealing a known figure to everybody, except the new Huntresses.

"Did you missed me?" X said in his cool, joking voice. "Sorry, but I hadn't fought a Maverick in a month, and I was going crazy. Who are these girls Spade?" X asked confused.

"Who is he?" It was Diane's turn to get excited. She looked at him quite well.

"He's X. He's your new commander." Spade answered to Diane's question. And then, answered X's one. "X, they are two new members of the 17th Unit. She," Spade refered to the black haired Huntress, "is Liz. And she's Diane." Now refering to the blond haired female reploid.

"He doesn't look strong enough to be commander." Liz said as she examined X carefully. "In fact, he looks weak and fragile."

"Liz..." Spade said nodding his head in disagreement. "Have you ever heard about Sigma? Well, X defeated Sigma alone for four times! Sigma's first and last mistake was to underestimate him. But he can give you a simulator proof." Spade turned to X. X nodded his head in agreement. The simulation went right on. There were about 50 Maverick holograms. They all attacked X at the same time, with their arm-cannons shooting. X dodged the plasma beams easily, and used his X-Saber and slashed 10 or so. He charged his X-Buster at level 9 and fired. He destroyed all the mavericks in no time. The Huntresses were astonished.

"Zero..." X was talking to Zero that afternoon. "How did you liked the new girls? In my opinion, I think Diane's beautiful. What do you think?"

"Well, I loved Liz." Zero answered grinning. "She is lovely!"

"Arise my greatest creation." An old man in a lab coat muttered in a hidden lab in aa abandonned warehouse. "You shall be greater than that traitor Zero!" A shinning reploid arose from a capsule that kept him locked. He his armor was black. His eyes meant death, and his name was... Bass!!

"Who... Who are you?" Bass was a little confused by the time he's been in the capsule. "Oh, I remember now. Hi, Boss!" Bass took a little time to look at his whole new body. "Why did you reactivate me?"

"I need your help. You must destroy that Mega-dweeb for once and for all!" Dr. Wiley looked pretty old to Bass. Indeed, he looked older than before the Great War.

"What?!" Bass was pretty astonished. "The Mega-jerk is still alive?! I can't believe he survived the Great War!" Suddenly, Bass remembered something."What happened to Treble?"

"Treble was destroyed in the Great War. But that doesn't mind, I've got a mission for you..." Dr. Wiley eyes were full of evil and hate. Dr. Wiley explained everything about the reploids, the mavericks and the Hunters.

"What?!" Bass was almost shouting. "You want me to go on a frontal attack against the Maverick Hunter Headquarters with just eight mavericks! It's almost a suicide!" Dr. Wiley was beginning to get pretty mad.

"Don't worry!" Dr. Wiley's german accent filled Bass ears. "X and Zero, the Hunters that defeated Sigma, are now retired. Compared with them, the rest of the Hunters are just scrap metal. Now go!"

Meanwhile, in HQ... "RED ALERT! RED ALERT! All Hunters report to their battle stations." All the Hunters began running to their battle stations. HQ was under attack. "What's wrong Coordinator Spade?" Protoman asked as Jex and he ran with Spade towards the display room. "This is too much to be caused by a few Mavericks."

"Those... Mavericks... ain't... common... ones..." Spade was going out of breath. Soon, they reached the display room. "We detected this strange emblem in all the Mavericks. The computer analized it but, it didn't match with any Maverick Organization. So, the computer compared it to the emblems of the robots in the Great War and... they match with Wiley's emblem! Those Mavericks belong to Dr. Wiley!"

"It doesn't matter!" Proto was getting angry. "We can't surrender just because they belong to the greatest mad-scientist in the past. Maybe he sealed himself in a cryogenetical capsule. Let's go out there and show those Mavericks waht we're made of!"

"Litanium, steel and circuitry, right?" Jex said joking to release some preasure.

The battle was fierceful, no one surrendered. The mavericks were just nine, but their weapons were pretty advanced, as usual with Dr. Wiley. "We won't resist any longer!" Proto contacted Spade with their wrist communicator. "We need enforcements!"

BEEP, BEEP. "I'll take the videophone call, honey" X said to Diane. "Who is it? Oh, hi Proto, what's up?" X was happy about Proto calling him.

"I'm pretty sorry to call you in this circunstances, but we've got major problems here." Proto looked pretty tired. "While we're talking, Jex is communicating with Zero. We need you two to come to HQ as soon as possible."

Soon, X and Zero met with Spade, Proto and Jex in HQ. "X, Zero," Spade began talking, "we need your help. You're the only ones who can defeat this new Mavericks."

"What's so special about th Mavericks?" X had a doubtful look in his face as well as Zero.

"Well, they belong to Dr. Wiley. Their weapons are pretty advanced for the weapons we've got. Only you have the new arm-cannon models." Spade's face became even more serious (oh, it can?). "Look, I know you're retired, but we need your help!"

X looked at Zero for a while. "All right. We'll help." X and Zero entered the capsule room. "Blade, let's go! X activated Blade, his Hawk. Zero activated Claw, his wolf. "Let's separate and destroy the eight maverick bosses."

Soon the Mavericks had been destroyed and they reached the Skull Castle. X and Zero entered a large room. Soon, they found a strange Maverick at the end of the room. "I was expecting you." Bass was standing there, with his black armor shinning, and his arm-cannon ready to fire.

"I'll handle him, Zero." X said as he took a step towards Bass. X and Bass fought for a while. X activated his Sabre and easily destroyed Bass. X and Zero reached Wiley's room. "All right Doc. It's time for you to surrender."

"No way Mega!" Dr. Wiley was wearing some kinda battle armor. "This is your end!" Dr. Wiley prepared to fight with X.

"I've got two things to tell you." X had a little grin in his face. "My friends call me X, YOU can call me Mega Man X. And, Sigma always told me the same thing, and now, he's nothing but scrap metal."

"But I'm different. You know why?" Dr. Wiley was laughing. "Because, I created the Sigma Virus!"

"Why I am not surprised!" Zero talked for the first time since they found Dr. Wiley. Without waitng anymore, X and Zero dashed towards Wiley, he easily avoided them. But X turned around, charged his arm cannon and fired a level 9 shot and destroyed the battle armor that Wily was wearing.

"This ain't the end X!" Dr. Wiley stood up and began to laugh as he activated a secret door nd disappeared behind it. "I shall get my revenge soon! Ha, ha, ha, ha!"

"Come on Zero." X talked to Zero as he took of his helmet. "Let's go back to HQ."

X and Zero arrived to HQ. Dr. Cain was waiting for them in his lab. "Hi Dr. Cain. It has been a while." X saluted Dr. Cain when they arrived. Diane and Liz were waiting on the videophone. They'd been pretty worried about X and Zero. "Don't worry Diane, we're OK." X told Diane.

Suddenly, a group of Mavericks entered abruptly into the lab and grabbed X by his arms. The rest of the group grabbed Zero, Dr. Cain, Blade and Claw and transported away. Soon, the two Mavericks grabbing X transported too. Then, Dr. Wiley's face appeared in the screen. "X, I told you I would get my revenge soon! I sent those Mavericks to kidnap your friends... Do you dare to come for them? Ha, ha, ha!!!!"

"You bet I do!" X muttered to himself as he read the coordinates Wiley wrote on the screen. X set his destiny, and dashed out of the main door, heading for Dr. Wiley's new Skull Castle (you might wonder how Dr. Wiley could build a new Skull Castle in such a little amount of time). "Well, how far is this Skull Castle anyway?" X was thinking about his friends when the floor beneath him began to rumble. "What the...?" X began falling into a large pit that seemed to have no bottom...

Meanwhile, back at Skull Castle. "Dr. Cain, I want you to build the most outstanding robot ever built!" Dr. Wiley was talking to Dr. Cain through a small screen in the lab where he sealed Dr. Cain. "And make sure that this Reploid has the power to desroy that Mega-dweeb for once and for all!" Dr. Wiley began laughing out loud, and then, the screen went blank. "Oh boy." Dr. Cain muttered as he looked at all the material he got in front of him. "Well, I might be able to do some upgrade chips for X without Wiley noticing."

"Ouch!" X said as he got to his feet. "Where am Y? And how am I going to get out of here?" X asked to himself as he looked a way out of the pit. Suddenly, he knocked the rock wall and it sounded like metal, X wiped out the dust the hid a metal door and a button panel. There was a small screen next to the button panel. The screen had the folowing message: "ENTER CODE NAME". X looked with wonder and typed 'Dr. Cain' but the screen showed a failure message. Then X typed 'Mega Man X' and the screen showed the following message: "CODE NAME ACCEPTED. OPEN HAND SCANNER". A small metal plate slid into the metalic door, and a hand-shapped crystal panel was shown. X curiously placed his left hand on the crystal... and the computer started beeping, the screeen showed a message that said: "HAND SCAN COMPLETE. PROCEEDING IN DOOR OPENING". Just after that message was displayed, the metal door opened heavily. X entered...

"Dr. Cain, how is the construction proceeding?" Dr. Wiley asked Dr. Cain. "I'm getting anxious." Dr. Cain was still working in the Ultimate Maverick, as Dr. Wiley decided to call him.

"I'm finished with the interior circuitry and the interior skeleton, I'm beginning to build the Litanium X body skin." Dr. Cain was sweating, he was pretty tired of working on the Ultimate, but he has been working in the upgrade chips for X at the same time, and he was almost finished with that. "The Ultimate might be finished by next week Dr. Wiley." "Good!" Dr. Wiley replied and closed the communication channel.

"What is this place?" X wondered as he walked in a strange place that looked like a laboratory. X found a computer working from about 10 that were in there. It was doing something strange, it had a code name request. X typed 'Mega Man X' again. A strange hydraulic sound was made, and a short capsule emerged from the floor. The capsule opened and a holographic image of Dr. Light appeared. "Fa... Father?" X was out of breathe.

"My son, Mega Man X, I knew you would one day find this secret lab, and I expected it to be in other circunstances. But now, it seems that you have to fight." X listened carefully. The hologram continued speaking. "I sealed your pet, Rush, in this capsule after reconstructing him, and I made some changes in him o that he might be able to accoplate with you once again." Tha hydraulic sound started again and another taller capsule emerged next to the small one, enter this capsule, and receive a whole new body armor that will allow you to accoplate with Rush and use the new Super Adaptor." The hologram disappeared, and Rush was finally revealed. The screen in the capsule showed the following message: "ACTIVATION IN 10 SECONDS. 10, 9, 8, 7..." X entered the other capsule and received a new armor. This armor was pretty cool, X looked back at the small capsule...

"I've got to get outta here!" Zero was muttered to himselk as he looked around the room were he was sealed for a way to get out of it. "There must be a way to... Aha! It looks like this steel plate is loose." Zero began trying to take the plate of the wall. "Almost... almost... Done! It looks like some kind of weapon, but why? Why is there a weapon in here? Wait, was the heck is this?" Zero took a small box in his hand, and pressed a red button. Suddenly, Dr. Cain appeared. "Zero, while I was in here, I placed a weapon here so you could escape and get X. Quick, there's no time!" The recording faded.

Back at Dr. Light's secret lab. "This capsule is empty." Suddenly, X heard a 'bark' behind him, and saw a dog standing with it's tongue out. "Hi Rush!" X talked to the dog. "Ok, let's think about getting out of here." Rush wagged his tail. "Bark!" Rush began transforming into some kind of armor. The armor joined X. "Wow, this armor feels good. Let's see if it can help me out of here." X engaged the Super Armor's rocket busters and went flying out of the pit. X flew all the way to Skull Castle.

"Well, this looks like a small lase beam. I'll try to cut the door to get out." Zero cut the door and went through a long corridor. "First, I gotta find my Beam Saber, the key for this Arm-cannon-cuff and my transporting device." Zero finally arrived for something that looked like a warehouse. A Maverick was guarding the door, Zero grabbed him by the neck, took the key and deactivated the Arm-cannon cuff. The Maverick aimed for Zero, but Zero avoided the plasma shot and blasted the Maverick into pieces. Zero opened the door, took his Saber and transporting device, located X and transported away.

X was standing outside the Skull Castle. Suddenly, Zero appeared next to him. "X, we've got to hurry! Oh, by the way, nice armor you got there." "We'll talk about that later Zero!" X looked at Zero as he prepared his Beam Saber. "Let's go Zero!" X blasted the door away with the X-Arm (it really used to be the Mega-arm, but I changed te name myself). And they went in...

X and Zero ran through many corridors inside Skull Castle. It seemed like an endless labyrinth. One after another, the corridor crossed and joined. "We've got to find Dr. Cain and get out of here!" Zero shouted as they ran through a grey corridor. "No, we must get Wiley too!" X answered.

"Dr. Cain," The little screen next to the working table activated again, "is the Ultimate done yet?" Dr. Wiley had an evil smile in his face.

"Yes Dr. Wiley," Dr. Cain cleaned up some sweat from his face, "he's finished, in fact, I've already activated him and sent him to your lab."

"It looks like we've found the lab in which Dr.Wiley sealed Dr. Cain." Zero said to X. X was running ahead of him, it looked like that new armor he got in Dr. Light's secret lab gave him even more speed. BOOOOOOMM Dr. Cain looked at the smoke, when he saw two familiar shadows. "Looks like we found you Dr. Cain." Zero smiled.

"Where's Wiley?" X began looking for Wiley. "Dr. Cain, where's Dr. Wiley?!" X looked pretty mad, or maybe worried.

"He's in his secret lab, at the top of Skull Castle. I'll give you a map that he gave his Maverick to take me here, and that fool dropped it." Dr. Cain was almost laughing out loud, Zero smiled too, but X remained serious. "Here, be sure to get him this time!" Dr. Cain handed X the map.

"I'll go with you, X." Zero held X by his shoulder. "If you're so worried about Wiley, he must terrible." "Alright Zero." X grinned.

"X, be careful, he made me built a super Maverick. He thinks I made him perfect, but I left his stomach without covering with Litanium X." Dr. Cain smiled wishing them luck. "Oh, I almost forget about this. Here, while I made that Maverick, I made this upgrade chips for you." Dr. Cain handed the Hunters the chips.

Soon, X and Zero reached Wiley's lab, they blew the door and found Dr. Wiley sitting on a chair, and beside him, that super Maverick Dr. Cain talked about. "He doesn't look that impressive." X smiled at Zero. Then, he saw Blade and Claw on two cages. "Ok, I'll handle that super Maverick and you rescue Balde and Claw."

X and Ultimate looked at eachother's eyes. X took the initiative and kicked Ultimate on hs stomach. "Hit hard, hit fast." X muttered. Ultimate recovered fast. Ultimate then punched X on his face, but X only took a step back because of the punch. X charged his X-buster and shot to Ultimate's stomach, damaging him. X engaged his X-Saber and slashed him in half by the stomach. X only saw the Ultimate explode into pieces of scrap metal. Zero easily blew the cages away.

Dr. Wiley was astonished. "That fool Cain betrayed me! But I won't go down so easily!" Dr. Wiley put on another battle armor. X and Zero fought against Wiley for a while. The plasma shot sometimes hit the walls, but mainly the dome. X charged his X-buster and aimed at Wiley, but Wiley moved pretty fast and grabbed X's arm-cannon and flew him against the wall. Then Dr. Wiley grabbed Zero by his arm, and smashed him against the floor. X and Zero soon stood up.

"Ok Wiley, this is it!" X charged his X-buster again, but this time Zero used a chain he saw on the floor and tied Wiley up. X fired a level 5 shot at Wiley, that destroyed the battle armor he was wearing. X and Zero charged their arm-cannons simoutaneously.

Wiley began laughing out loud, with the rain on his face. "Remember, you cannot kill me. That would break the first law of robotics, and you can't!" Wiley didn't motion when he saw the two Hunter charging their arm-cannons.

"Zero and I...are...more...than...ROBOTS!!!" Feeling pain in their body, because of the first law of robotics, the Hunters let go the triggers, two balls of pure plasma joined together and formed a big plasma beam that hit Wiley on his middle, leaving a big hole on him!

"How...how could...you...do...that...? Wiley muttered as he looked at the hole in his middle. "But...you...broke...the...First...Law...of Robotics...and...you'll...die...for...that......." Wiley's voice vanished into the sound of the thunders.

"Maybe so... but our job was to protect the world from evil, and you were the last incarnation of evil that could threat this world." And after saying so, they left the Skull Castle, taking Dr. Cain, Blade and Claw with them.

X, Zero, Dr. Cain, Blade and Claw returned to HQ. Diane and Liz were waiting there with Coordinator Spade, Protoman, Jex and the rest of the Hunters. When they saw the victorious Hunters arrive, everyone cheered. "Well," Coordinator Spade took the word. "How was everything?"

"That's done, no more Wiley, never." X said with a pretty serious expression in his face. The Skull Castle is there, but nobody is in charge of it."

There was a big celebration in HQ. X and Zero were seen as heroes. "Brothers," Protoman began talking through the microphone. "now that there will be no more Maverick organizations threatening the world, we could say that the work of the Maverick Hunters is done. Lt's have a cheer for our best Hunters, X and Zero!" All the Hunters, humans and reploids cheered X and Zero for a long while.

"People," A police officer who arrived there began talking through the microphone. "I've got terrible news, for X and Zero especially. My squad and I went to the Skull Castle to arrest the Mavericks that were left, and at the top of the fortress, at Dr. Wiley's lab, we found Dr. Wiley's dead body, with X and Zero's arm-cannons marks all over it." The officer paused for a second.

"Oh boy," Zero muttered to X, "here it comes..."

"So, I don't have another option but to arrest Hunters X and Zero..."

"What?!" Diane and Liz asked as if in chorus. "They killed a scientist who was trying to destroy humans and reploids for equal, they did the world a favor, and now they're going to be arrested! Oh please!" Diane was pretty mad, as well as the rest of the people in the room.

"I'm pretty sorry, but these two Hunters broke the First Law of Robotics which says..." The officer was interrupted by Liz's furious voice. "Oh, come on! We all know what the First Law of Robotics says!"

"Then," The officer continued, "you should understand why I'm arresting them. Now, get out of the way!" The officer ordered as he placed the hand-cuffs on X and Zero and took their Beam-Sabers. The officer took them to jail and there they remained until their trial.

1 month after X and Zero's arresting, the trial of the century, or that was how the press called it, took place. "And now, the case against the Maverick Hunters X and Zero. The accused please stand up." And so did X and Zero. "This court is in session. You are accused for breaking the First Law of Robotics by killing Dr. Albert Wiley. How do you declare yourselves?"

"Guilty your honor." X said after looking at Zero.

"Well, the court get a 15 minute break to decide the veredict and pass the sentence." The court and jury went into a private room. Meanwhile, Diane and Liz were talking to X and Zero. 15 minutes later... "Order in the hall. This court is again in session. Has the jury decided the veredict?"

"Yes you honor." The jury representative said as she stood up. "This jury declares the accused... GUILTY!"

"After hearing the veredict," The judge continued talking. "I must pass sentence. The accused please arise." X and Zero stood up. "Maverick Hunters Mega Man X and Zero, I sentence you to be deactivated and never to be activated again!"

"What?!" Diane muttered and began crying on Liz's shoulder. "How, how could they?" Liz didn't answer.

"You'll be deactivated in Dr. Cain's lab and buried in safety capsules that shall never be opened." The judge expression was pretty serious. "Now, this court is dismissed."

Back at Dr. Cain's lab... "I can't do it." Dr. Cain muttered to himself. "These were the best Hunters alive, I can't allow them to disappear. But what can I do?" X and Zero were sealed in two capsules and buried outside HQ.....

And in that way, the best Hunters alive, were sealed and never seen again!...........
