Megamanīs fight with Sigma was over. Doppler had helped him to defeat Sigma with the Doppler virus and everything seemed fine. He quickly picked up on his sensors that the whole building was going to blow up, and if he didnt want to become scrap-metal he had to get out of there quickly. Megaman grabbed Dr. Doppler and was just about to teleport away when he rememberd about Zero. Was he ok? Would he get out in time? Theese thaughts ran trough his mind while Doppler was screaming at him: "Megaman! Megaman, you have to teleport us away from here right now or there wont be enough left of us to scrape from the cealing!" Megaman returned to his senses and beamed away just in time as the floor, cealing and walls started collapsing. When Megaman and Doppler arrive back at the remains of Maverick Hunter Headquarters, he quickly gets Doppler to Medic (the head Dr. of the Maverick Hunters) and then runs off to find Zero. Megaman makes way towards Dr. Cainīs laboratry to see if Zero could possibly be there. He arrives at the thick, metal doors wich guard Dr. Cains laboratry. Only a few have access. And Megaman is one of thoose. He puts his hand on the handscanner and watches as the doors open. He rushes inside only to be greated with the horrid sight of Zero laying on a table almost totally destroyed. "MegamanŠ" Zero succeds to say using all his powers left. "X! You got here right in time. I need to use some of your powers and give them to Zero. He is dying with only 6% of his energy left and he is loosing more and more fast. Hurry over here." Dr. Cain waved to Megaman to run over to the operation table. Megaman quickly dashed there and looked at the remanis of his best pal. Not much was left of him. "What happened to him?" Megaman asked with revenge in his voice. "Who did this to him?". "I dont know yet. He hasnt been able to say a word since Omega found him in one of the hallways. Looks like he used up all his powers just teleporting here. Now cīmon X. Hook theese wires up to your X-buster and iīll transmit the power to Zero." Megaman plugged in the wires on the two places on his X-buster -made just for this sort of occasion. He saw that Cain was ready to throw the transfer switch and he started powering up his X-buster. The power from Megaman doing this took itself trough the wires, to the machine and finally to Zero. But Zero seemed too weak to start picking up the power to his body. "Charge more X. We need more power to get him working!" Cain shouted with dispair in his voice. Megaman started using his own life-power, transferring it to Zero. He was not going to loose his best friend. Not again. "X! What are you doing? I see a great loss of life-power from you on the sensors. Are you going crazy? If you keep this up you are going to die!" Megaman didnt listen. He was too busy thinking of everything they had done together. He and Zero. Best of pals. Heīd rather die himself than see Zero die. He thaught in some way that since Zero had saved him so many times he almost owed Zero his life. Suddenly Zero started moving. He raised what was left of his arm towards X and spoke: "Megaman X. You have been a great friend. And even tough ive tried to match your fighting skills iīve never been as good as you. XŠ You must keep on living. You must keep on fighting evil. You are now the leader of the Maverick HuntersŠ You where the best friend a robot could ask for X. Maybe iīll see you sometime again..." With theese last words Zeroīs sensors shut down. His life-power dissapeared. And all that was left was his half-destroyed armour. "NOOOOOOOOOOO! He canīt die!!! Cain DO something!" Dr. Cain looked sadly at Megaman. "X. There is nothing i can do. I did not make him and i cant repair him. Not with the ruined equipment we have now after the attack, and not with the technology i currently know. Iīm sorry. I am not Dr. Light..." Megaman looked at Dr. Cain. He knew Cain was right. Cain would do everything he could to save Zero. And he did. But for nothing. X fell to his knees covering his face. He felt sadness. Anotherone of the so called "Human emmotions". He looked at Dr. Cain. He was typing something on the computer. Megaman stood up and looked at the screen. He read the heading: "Mega Man Y-06?" Dr. Cain answerd: "Megaman... I have the solution to our problems right here! We can get Zero back!"

X looked strangely at Cain... What does he mean anyway? Nothing can get us Zero back now. "X. Look at the monitor. This is secret project Y-06. Itīs a blueprint of the new armour enhachements you where supposed to get. But due to lack of parts and technological equipment the project was laid down. Now X, we can use what is left of Zero and combine you two into the most powerful robot ever. Megaman Y-06." Megaman thaught for a while. "But Dr. Cain. How will that get Zero back?" "Well X. I wont just take parts from his armour and weapons. I will install his brain and memory chip inside you..." Dr. Cain looked down at the ground as if he was having second thaughts. "Cain what is the matter?" "Well X you see... When i put your two brains together you will change into a cross between Zero and Megaman. You will not be the same megaman after that. I hope that is clear to you X. You will become a totally new robot but still youīll have your and Zeroīs memories and experience." Megaman thaught for a while. This way he could find out who did this to Zero and become powerful enough to hold back Sigma and the likes of Dr. Wily forever. "Dr. Cain. Project Y-06 will now come in progress. Make me into the most powerful robot alive so i can be with Zero and avenge his death." He looked seriously at Dr. Cain, who knew that this was it. "All right X. I will start at once. I will have to shut you down during the process though... I hope this works." "Good luck Cain. I know you can do this." Dr. Cain walked up behind Megaman. He opened a hatch on Xīs back. "X. When i turn you on again you wont be totally the same. I now i say goodbye to the old Megaman X. The bravest robot ever made." With thoose words Cain shut Megaman off...

A few months later...

"All systems ready...
Checking power level... OK!
Checking weapon level... OK!
Checking sensors... OK!
Launch program "Y-06"...
Megaman opened his eyes. He looked around. Everything looked the same way when he was shut down. But he felt a little strange. "So Megaman Y-06. You are finally on again. Well it has taken me some months but now you are finished. Cīmon. Look at yourself. Tell me what you think." Said Cain. Y-06 stood up and looked at his both arms. But his X-buster was gone. Instead his arm just finished at his wrist. "Whatīs this Dr. Cain? Whereīs my X-buster?" "This is your new weapon Megaman" said Cain and held a big gun in his hands. "This is your Y-Buster 2000. It is the absolutely latest in weapons. It wont only fire charged up shots but you can charge it and save the shots in the gun to release a rapid burst of charged-up shots all at once." Cain hooked up the gun on Yīs arm. "Oh. And you have a new arm enhachement too. This little thingie enables you to not only have the Y-Buster on but also other weapons and equipment. I have made a new model of Zeroīs Light sabre wich you can plug on to your arm." Then megaman suddenly rememberd a lot of scenes that he had never seen before. He saw Vile blasting his arm off. He felt pain. He felt lonelyness. Y collapsed at the floor. "Oh so itīs started. Your memories are blending with Zeroīs. This can be painful at first but... " "It was Vile..." Whispered Megaman. "What?" "It was Vile who did that to Zero. He destroyed him. HE shall pay!" He jumped up and started walking towards the door only to discover that Cain was holding him back. "Y-06 you cant go yet. You will have your revenge, i promise you that. But you are not yet aware of the power and potential that you now have. You arnīt even fully armoured yet. Your time will come." Megaman looked at Cain. He was right. As he always was. "Then get me my armour on and show me my powers. I want to get Vile. Once and forever..." "Ok megaman. Come with me." Cain walked away to a big door and opened it with his voice command. Megaman followed him into the room. He looked around. Never before had he seen such and gigantic room. He walked around looking at some of the training machines in the room. "This is your training room. With all your new enhachements untested i got this place built for you to try them out. But first let me show them all to you." Cain walked up to Megaman and turned his helmet enhachement on. "This Megaman is one of the things i think is going to be of most value to you." Cain pressed a button on Megamanīs helmet and everything turned black for a moment. Then Y saw a lot of numbers and gauges on the little screen that had slipped down from his helmet. He saw Dr. Cain, but with all his weaknesses and sensitive spots revealed. "How do you like it Y-066? That little thingie will show you all bosses weaknesses and sensitive places when turned on. But dont use it too often. Only use it when you really have to since it uses up your energy when turned on." Megaman looked around a bit. "Cain i want to try my new equipement..." He didnt even get to finish the sentance when suddenly a big robot jumped at him with a laserwhip. Megaman quickly jumps back -just escaping the robots whip ripping his arm off. The robot stood up and turned his whip off. It was a robot about the size of Megaman himself. He had a big cannon on his right shoulder and he had a holder for his whip on a belt. His armour shined brightly, with the sun reflecting on it from the glass roof.

"Hehe... Well it seems your reflexes are working fine Megaman." "Who are you anyway? Why did you attack me?" Wonderd Megaman. "Sorry i didnt introduce myself. My name is Degree. Ive heard soo much about you." The robot said and bowed. "Only good things i hope" Megaman answerd with a grin. "Degree is new to the Maverick Hunters. I hired him about a week or so after you where shut down. He has exeptionally good powers, and from now on you two will be working together." Cain explained. Megaman Y shook hands with Degree. "Nice to meet you Degree. I guess its going to be a pleasure working with you. Degree put his whip down in itīs holder and answerd: "Yes i hope it will be." But still something worried Megaman. Something did not seem right at the moment. He didnt think for it too much thought. But he had this feeling...

Days had go by since Degree and Megaman met. They trained together every day, testing eachothers skills. Megaman had gotten to be quite good friends with Degree and they did almost everything together now. But Y-06 knew that they wouldnt be training all their lives. Sooner or later they would have to go on a real mission. And he was really eager to see Degree in action. And that day came pretty soon... "RED ALERT! RED ALERT! Mavericks are attacking block 53 in the center of town. Report to command central Megaman and Degree!" Megaman and Degree where training in the facility when theese words echoed in the Maverick Hunter HQ. They both stopped what they where doing and ran off trough the gigantic building to the command central. "You got here just in time both of you." Omega said. The tall reploid soldier seemed quite worried of something. "What is wrong Omega?" Megaman asked worringly. "Well just look at theese pictures on of our operatives took of the Maverick. This one is far more powerful than the ones weīve faced before." Megaman looked at the large computer screen. He saw a quite badly recorded tape of a big, powerful-looking robot. The robot was double the height of Megaman and had a enormous plasma-gun attached to his right arm. When standing there in itīs damp, dark armour it put out vibes that made Megaman shiver. This robot was something totally different then what he had faced before. When seeing how the robot with ease crushed a heavy metal wall, he felt that this robot represented something powerful. Something strong. And something really evil. "Megaman i dont care how bad that robot seems. Itīs our duty to go out there and stop it whatever the cost." Megaman knew Degree was right. But it didnt worry Y-06 that he would be hurt or killed during the fight. It was just that there was something chilling about the mechanoid. But still he had no time to be worried. His duty as a robot was to protect humanity. And the robot on the screen certainly wasnt. "I agree. Letīs go out and kick some metallic butt. I have longed for some real action" Megaman said with a smile on his face. "Thatīs what i like to hear! Omega, teleport us to the robot." "You got it!" Omega shouted and pressed a button, instantly teleporting the two Reploids to the scene. Megaman arrived first at the place. He quickly scanned the place for human survivers with his helmet attachement. But all he could see and find was remains of the once magnificant building. Y-06 looked around for the robot he saw on the computer screen. But he couldnt find it anywhere. Then like out of the darkness the robot popped up above Megaman, releasing a huge, energetic blast of plasma-laser. Megaman just barely jumped away from the blast and saw the tarmac on the street turn to dust from the strong blast. He quickly got on his legs and aimed his Y-buster at the robots last seen position. But again, it was nowhere to be seen. Then suddenly a voice spoke. "Hahaha... So you are the great Megaman Y-06. Dont look too tough to me." "Who the hell are you anyway? And how do you know who i am?" Megaman yelled at the robot, turning around to see it standing behind him. "Whoops... I forgot to introduce myself? Allow me then. People call me Chaos. Just plain Chaos. And that's exactly what i represent. And how i know about you? Well hey. You are the one im sent out to destroy. Thatīs it. Nice knowing you." With theese words he dissapeared again. Megaman looked around desperatly. He knew he wouldnt be able to escape all of this so called Chaos, suprise attacks. And where the hell was Degree. He should have been here by now. Then Chaos struck again. But this time from the side. He released a powerful burst of electric energy, totally unlike his last blast. This shot moved strangely, from side to side while approaching Megaman with incredible speed. The only way out of this situation was up, Megaman thaught. And with great effort he jumped high into the air while responding to the blast with a bit of his own powers. He shot 5 charged-up plasma shots at Chaos. Four of them missed him barely. But the fifth and last one hit him right in the chest. The gigantic robot fell to the ground with his chest-armour almost totally destoryed. He looked quickly at his wound and then jumped up. "I guess i underestemated you. But be sure... We will fight again. And the result shall be different then!" Chaos started glowing strangely and then just melted down into the pavement dissapearing from all sensors. At just that time Degree arrived at the place. "Megaman! Are you allright? I got stuck over there trying to save some hurt people." "Im ok. But next time Degree, dont leave me all alone with a powerful robot like that. It was only luck that i didnt get killed." Megaman looked around. The destruction to the block was unbeliveable. That robot really had alot of powers. And who had sent it to destroy me. While theese words ran trought Megamanīs mind he started remembering things again. Things he had never experienced himself. It was Zeroīs memories blending with his again. It happened quite often nowadays. He saw Vile again. He saw the hate in Vileīs eyes when releasing the blast towards him. Then everything turned black...
