Ever heard of the MSX Home Computer?
« on: February 17, 2006, 05:26:49 pm »

Ever heard of the MSX home computer system? I heard it used to be so cool, and it was released only in Japan. I also know that sagas, such as Metal Gear were born on the MSX. You guys know anything? :)

That's pretty original for a game system

When you buy the MSX, does it come with a monitor too? Or just the keyboard? Anyways, you did realize your friend had to use cassettes to save his Metal Gear game, right, Yamino? :?

The keyboard as a set is pretty cool, but I just had a violent pelvic stroke when you mentioned cassettes. Do not mention it again, lest I have a heart attack from my ear!

Some games, like Metal Gear, uses cassettes to save your progress, and some other games, like Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, uses the Konami Game Master 2 cheat cartridge. The thing that sucks about using cassettes is that while they can easily be emulated with curtain MSX emulators, some MSX2 computers(The one used to play Metal Gear)Don't have cassette input! So that means that you would have to start from the beginning to the end! That's what sucks about the saving system for Metal Gear. And for Metal Gear 2, you use the SRAM feature in the Konami Game Master 2 to save and load your progress. And that's how it goes! But too bad that MSX is dead now! But what the heck, it would be alright to play it sometime! :)

Dude, I'm serious, okay? All this is true! The MSX uses cassettes to save your game, and some uses the cheat cartridge, Konami Game Master, to save! Understand?

Neither did I! But the MSX was still good while it lasted! I don't think that cassette stuff will be used for us anymore! :)

I gots ya!! My dislike of the memory system was expressed by the heart attack. Don't assume that I cannot immediately comprehend dialogue. I read the cliff's notes!

Nigga hush, MSX was a cumbersome system with only a handful of good games.

The United States not reciving it was not a major loss.
