G.O.D can come, but not Wyrm...
Anyway, it appears that Cricket isn't the reason (completely) for GBA-Source' demise. He says the site just exploded. Interesting. He's trying to get a backup, so maybe it will come back... Maybe.

CJMErl: OK, first of all, I'm NOT that wierd...all the time...

Secondly, the site is back up (kind of), but since all the member accounts got deleted due to MORE HOSTING PROBLEMS (-_-;;), everyone's gotta reregister.

Oh, and it's called Unreal Solutions for some reason now.

No, CJ, Unreal Solutions is Cricket's other site, where he shows off his mods for Invision Power Board (Unreal Portal, Unreal RPG, can you see where this is going?). It also happens to be where people from Invisionize can come to ask questions about his mods. GBA-Source is gone. Kaput. Unless Cricket finds a backup.

Yet... this could be to our advantage... we can use the new romsource as a clean slate and rebuild it into the awsomeness that it once was!
Yes things will be different and the history lost, but romsource can become a better place than it was as it was dying.

*looks to Protoman*

Dear, I sure hope not..... All the threads.... the history.... all of it, if it left, and I don't have a hard copy of all those things on Lacus or Kagemitsu or nothing anymore.... *sighs* I guess I should start saving that work..... Just in case TPH pulls a GBA-Source.

I wonder why a site just vanishes? I'm still new to Forums, so um... does that happen very often? I never heard of it happening. Hmmm. Anyways. Sorry its gone.

CJMErl: Sites generally vanish only when there's a problem with whatever company/site hosts them, or enables the sites to be accessed.  It's happened with sites like The Sonic Stadium and, most recently, Planet MegaMan (after they overthrew their boss).

I'm probably not going to PMM after the bulshit they did.

Idiots.

The ruined their own site, just because they were fighting over a lusy 20$. Why must they make thousands of bloodthirsy fans suffer because of dumb shit like that?

Do not want.

Sites do often die. Sometimes it's because after years of being around, they get no traffic. Sometimes it's because whoever owns it just doesn't want to do that anymore. Sometimes, as with GBA-Source, it's because the server dies. Usually you can sense a sites death coming on. It's a slow process where the members start constantly bickering, the owner never comes around, and a few people become elitists and adopt a holier-than-thou attitude.

Hmm, sounds familiar, doesn't it?

CJMErl: True, that has happened (to a limited extent, anyone that tried abusing their powers got sniped by teh Cricket) on GBAsource, but I *highly* doubt that Cricket would willingly kill the site.

As a side note, another GBAsource refugee has put up this site as a temporary shelter of sorts for members:

Meh, tj wasn't such a bad guy once you got to know him, but yea... he did have a bit of an obsession with zeph at one point. Damn so much history for that site, I now know how some of the older members felt when the old romsource died.
