Ok, so I'm back, and after a beer or 6, I've calmed down considerably.
Herb, you may not have done all that, but I wish to point out that PC left because He felt that this forum had gone stale. Ever since he took off, we've all been posting with hair-triggers. You think I shouldn't find Kev funny because of those reasons? Rule 1 of comedy: It don't have to be brain surgery. Sometimes we need a little dumb humor to unwind.
Now you say his sprite animations are crappy. Simple solution: DON'T OPEN THOSE THREADS. You ain't gotta look if 'ya don't go there. His overuse of smileys? He's gotten sooooooo much better at that, and I don't mind the amount he uses now. It's his way of expressing himself, and last time I checked, this was still America, where freedom of expression still hasn't been taken away from us, despite what some extreme liberals would have you believe.
As for the threads, I do agree with you on that, but I chalk it up to youthful overexuberance. It's like when you were real small, and woke up on Christmas morning (or whatever big present festival your religion or non-religion celebrates), and you got so excited you woke up the entire house. You may not remember it, but 98.9% of us, myself included, have done it. Once he gets some, that'll all change.
One more thing about his animations: You say they're crappy, well, you ARE entitled to your opinion, but were YOU always perfect at what you do for fun? No. You weren't. No matter how good you were, there was room for improvement when you first started. Creativity is something to be encouraged, not berated. They may be Capcom sprites, but Kev uses them to tell HIS story. I find this to be a step in the right direction for a creative output. While he could be out and about doing drugs and cutting himself with razors, he's chosen a healthy output for his spark of talent. He doesn't HAVE to share it with us, but he does because he wants to, and I for one encourage him on it. I actually enjoy a good story, and he does it his way.
And as for the attention whoring? Well, controversy creates attention. For a while he wasn't even posting, and I missed my friend. If you want to berate Kev for his quirks, then you have to berate me for posting in cyan, CJ for the dual personality skill, Swift for his Harlock kick he was on, NMX for being a hateful asshole, KS for the Dr. Pepper obsession, jv for his ability to pwn Mr.T and his minions, Trigger/Drifter for posting as a guest, not knowing whether or not to come back at all, and yourself, for your apparent obsession with the green death. Not to mention all the other people on here for their various things and quirks that make them unique. That's like making fun of the Pope because he breathes air. WTF? It makes NO sense.
